Happy January!!! Brrrr!  Is it cold in your neck of the woods?  We’ve had a week of brutal weather with snow, wind, ice, freezing rain, and temps in the single digits.   It was the perfect weather for wearing this Fleece DIY Scarf.

Keep reading to see how easy this new sew scarf is to make, and it won’t take you very long either.

Instructions for No Sew DIY Scarf

You will be amazed at how easy this no sew fleece scarf  is.  There really is no pattern.  I bought this piece of gray patterned fleece at Walmart.  I don’t remember how much I paid for it, but it wasn’t much, and I loved the pattern.

A few weeks later I went to the fabric store, and they had a great selection of fleece in their remnants.  I got a piece a black and white piece to make a plaid scarf for under a dollar.

They had great patterns for kids, and this project is easy enough that kids could make these too.

 

 

The amount of fleece that you use depends on how you like your scarves.  I have seen some that are wide and others that are more narrow.  A quarter or half of a yard of fleece is enough to make a scarf.

Measure your fleece so that it’s long enough to go over your head and then wrap around again and add 12″.  My piece of fleece was 72″ x 10″.  You will be able to wear this DIY scarf two ways.

 

 

Bring the short ends together and cut 6″ slits into both layers of the fabric to make a fringe on both ends.  I actually have a winter scarf made from a piece of fleece and that’s all I did to it.  Since the fleece won’t unravel, you don’t have to worry about sewing the ends.

 

 

To make this an infinity scarf, you need to tie the two ends   together.  Double knot the fringes together to connect them.  Do this with all of the pieces that you cut.

 

 

When you’re done tying all of the fringes, it will look like this.  Now you are ready to wear your scarf.  You can slip it over your head, and have the knots hang down.

 

 

On really cold days, I like to double loop my scarves to keep my neck warm.  You can wear this fleece scarf in the snow or you can wear it with a winter outfit.
