February 19, 2017 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

I have this set of Penny Black stamps called Garden Friends.  The animal stamps in the set are so cute, and this bunny rabbit makes the perfect Penny Black Easter Card.

Easy Easter Card

March 21, 2016 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

Let’s start this week off with an Easy Easter Card!  I love making cards, but sometimes I get so wrapped up with all of the advanced tools and techniques.  I’m going to try making more basic cards to share for those who are just getting started.

Here is an Easy Easter Card to make. I used a Penny Black stamp from the Garden Friends Set, card stock, patterned paper, and circle punches.

Easter is only a week away, so if you want to make Easy Easter Cards, you better “hop” on it.  Get it?  hehe!  Sorry!  I’ve had way too much caffeine today.

Supplies Needed for this Easy Easter Card

  • 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ White card stock for card base
  • 5 1/4″ x 4″ bright blue card stock – I ran my cardstock through the Cuttlebug to add texture to it.
  • 1 1/2″ strip of dotted patterned paper
  • Penny Black Easter Stamp
  • 1 1/2″ circle punch
  • 1 3/4″ circle punch
  • 2″ Scalloped circle punch
  • Scrap of white paper
  • Scrap of light blue paper
  • Scrap of yellow paper
  • Scrapbook Adhesive – If you have trouble choosing adhesive, visit Card Making and Scrapbooking Adhesive to help you choose the kind you need.

Card Instructions

  1. Stamp the Easter Egg on a small scrap of white card stock.  Color it with markers or colored pencils, and punch it out using the 1 1/2″ circle punch.  If you’re new to stamping, read How To Use Rubber Stamps
  2. Using the 1 3/4″ circle punch, cut out a circle from the light blue scrap paper.
  3. Using the scalloped punch, cut out a circle from the yellow scrap paper.
  4. Fold the 8 1/2″ x 11″ card stock in half to form the card base.
  5. Adhere the bright blue card stock to the front of the card.
  6. Attach the dotted paper to the center of the card.
  7. Attach the scalloped circle, plain circle, and Easter Egg to the front of the card as shown.

This is a very basic card that is easy to copy.  Layering the circles and scalloped circle is a simple way to add interest to a handmade card.

Hedgehog Valentine Card Using Hexagon Hives Thinlets Die from Stampin’ Up

February 13, 2014 by Pam Larmore 5 Comments

I’ve seen so many projects using the Hexagon Hives Thinlit Die from Stampin’ Up, so I just had to try it out!  I thought it would make a cool background for this cute Valentine Hedgehog by Penny Black.

My mom is a Stampin’ Up demonstrator and had the thinlit die.  It’s so nice having friends and family with lots of supplies who are willing to share.  I love how this background turned out!

Hedgehog Handmade Valentine's Day Card Using Stampin' Up and Penny Black Stamp - P.S. I Love You Scrapbooking - www.psiloveyouscrapbooking.com

Penny Black rubberstamps are one of my all time favorites!  There are so many sweet critters, including lots of cute hedgehogs.

I used the Thinlet Die and the Cuttlebug to cut the floral paper.  Then I cut a solid rectangle the same size out of the striped paper so that you can see both patterns.  I stamped the image and colored it with Copic Markers.  To finish the card, I added a seam binding ribbon and bow and Stickles glitter glue to the heart balloons. I love seam binding from Stampin’ Up.  It is so easy to work with.  You can easily tie bows, knows, or gather it for borders and trim.
