Snowman Card Using the Explore

December 3, 2017 by Pam Larmore 8 Comments

This Cricut Snowman Card turned out soooo cute!!  It was one of those cards that came together perfectly.  I love snowmen, and I wanted to create something that was a little different from the traditional Christmas Colors.  The mint green, hot pink, lime green, and orange worked perfectly.

This Cricut Snowman Card uses the Cricut Explore or the Snow Folks Cricut Cartridge. I added fake snow and glitter to give it some shine.

Sunflower Card with Simply Stamps

June 12, 2017 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

I’m so fortunate to only have a 7 minute commute to work, all on back roads.  I have some of the most beautiful Maryland scenery to enjoy to and from work every day.   I often see bald eagles, momma deer with their fawns, and fields of sunflowers.

In honor of the sunflowers that will soon be in full bloom, I have a Sunflower Card using a stamp from Simply Stamps.

Since I’m in Maryland, this stamp could also pass as a black eyed Susan, which is our state flower.   I also colored it pink and made a beautiful daisy card a few months back.  What a versatile stamp.

    • 5 1/2” x 11” Yellow card stock
    • 5” x 5” Green card stock
    • 4 ¾” x 4 3/4” Sunflower patterned paper
    • Fancy Circle cut from yellow card stock – I used a Spellbinders Die to cut my
    • 2 ¼” x 3 ½” White card stock
    • 2 ½” x 3 ¾” green cardstock
    • Sunflower Stamp by Simply Stamps
    • Black Ink
    • Copic Markers
    • Corner punch

    • Green ribbon
    • Green and clear glitter glue
    • Scrapbook Adhesive
    • Foam dots

  3. Stamp the sunflower on the white card stock in black ink. Color with Copic Markers
  4. Attach the white cardstock to the green mat.
  5. Attach the sunflower paper to the green mat and attach to the card base.
  6. Attach the fancy circle to the center of the sunflower paper.
  7. Wrap the green ribbon around the layers with the sunflower paper and tie into a bow to the left side of the card.
  8. Use foam tape to attach the sunflower to the card.
  9. Add three green rhinestones to the left of the sunflower.
  10. Add clear glitter glue to the flower and green glitter glue to the leaves and stem.

The Beautiful Blooms Accordion Fold Card from Heartfelt Creations is a horizontal fancy fold card that is just as much a work of art as it is a greeting card. With its floral decoration and impressive design, this card is a must-make if you want to impress anyone in your life.

Because you will be using a die cutting machine to make the pieces for this DIY card, this project is not as difficult as it looks. This is the perfect card to give in the spring or summer seasons, especially for those who love flowers and lots of sunshine. The dimension is incredible, especially the pretty flowers peeking up from the background. It’s a great choice for Mother’s Day, birthdays, or just because. So, let’s get started!

Star Wars Card For the Stormtrooper In Your Life

April 24, 2017 by Pam Larmore 8 Comments

Are there any Star Wars geeks in the house?

OK OK I need to come clean.  I’m not a Star Wars fan.  I’m sorry!  I’m a hopeless romantic, and science fiction doesn’t appeal to me.  So now you’re asking why in the world did I make a Star Wars card, right?

I’m in a great group with some talented craft bloggers, and each month’s challenge is a movie.  In honor of the 40th Anniversary of it’s release, this month’s movie is Star Wars.  Sometimes I need to step outside of my floral, bright colored box, and make something completely different.

This Star Wars Card uses an inking and splattering technique to create the look of a galaxy. It's a great card for a Star Wars fan.

April 17, 2017 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

I’ve never realized the importance of Sympathy Cards until the past 6 months.  My father passed away suddenly.  Then my father-in-law passed away 3 months later.

My family received so many Sympathy Cards with wonderful messages about what wonderful men they were.  I saved all of them.  It was comforting to know that so many people were thinking of us and praying for us.

This easy sympathy card uses stamps from Simply Stamps and a few other supplies. It's a great card for a beginning card maker.

April 4, 2017 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

Three years ago, I was scrolling through Facebook, and the SWEETEST card ever caught my eye.  I had to track down the manufacturer of that stamp, and a few minutes later I was introduced to Wild Rose Studio.  It was love at first site.

Wild Rose Studio has the most adorable stamps for making greeting cards. There's Bella the Elephant, Bluebell the Deer, and so many more cute critters. Wild Rose Studio stamps and cards made with them are beautiful. They also have sentiment stamps, steel dies, papers, and printed panels.

Let me start by saying that Wild Rose Studio has not sponsored this post.  I just REALLY like their products.

Random Acts of Kindness Cards

March 30, 2017 by Pam Larmore 4 Comments

We are living in a crazy world.  It’s sad when the news is filled with mass shootings and political corruption instead of kindness and humanitarian stories.  I’m hoping to spread some kindness, even if it’s just a little bit, with these Mini Random Acts of Kindness Cards.

Make these Random Acts of Kindness Cards to hand out when doing nice things in your community. They are 3x3 and will fit easily into your purse or pocket. Be.Kind.Always.

This post is sponsored by Simply Stamps.  All opinions are my own.

The smallest act of kindness from a stranger can change the course of someone’s day, and in some cases it can change someone’s outlook on life.

You may have seen feel good stories in the news of good samaritans leaving scarves tied to trees in city parks for the homeless.  Many people are posting on Facebook and Twitter about thoughtful people paying for their coffee in the morning.

I want YOU to get in on the kindness.  I want YOU to think of something kind to do for others.  It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture, costing lots of money.  Helping an elderly person load groceries into their car costs you nothing but a few minutes of your time, but it can restore everyone’s faith in humanity.

Make these Random Acts of Kindness Cards to hand out when doing nice things in your community. They are 3x3 and will fit easily into your purse or pocket. Be.Kind.Always.

I’m going to show you how to make these mini Random Acts of Kindness Cards to give out with your good deeds.  They are only 3″ x 3″, so they will easily fit into your purse or pocket,

Supplies Needed for Random Acts of Kindness Cards

  • Keep Calm You’ve Been RAK’D stamp by Simply Stamps
  • Random Acts of Kindness Stamp by Simply Stamps
  • Craft Ink
  • Variety of matching papers
  • White card stock
  • Small flowers, rhinestones, buttons, brads, or other doo-dads to decorate your card.
  • Scrapbook Adhesive
  • Foam Tape

Watch and see how easy it is to make these little cards.

Make these Random Acts of Kindness Cards to hand out when doing nice things in your community. They are 3x3 and will fit easily into your purse or pocket. Be.Kind.Always.

Instructions

Since you’re going to be giving these out regularly, you won’t want to make just one.  These are small, and it’s easy to make a whole stack of them at once.  You’ll be sure to have lots of them on hand so you’re always prepared to BE KIND.

  1. Choose your paper.  These papers were in a 6×6 stack.  I love coordinating paper stacks.  It makes it so easy to match colors, so you don’t waste time.  When making a stack of cards, I suggest doing all of the cutting first.  It’s easy to assemble the cards if everything is precut.
  2. Cut the card base 3″ x 6″, then fold in half.  This size is perfect if you’re using 6×6 paper.
  3. On white card stock, stamp Keep Calm You’ve Been RAK’D in craft ink. I used blue to match my paper.
  4. Color the cupcake with colored pencils or markers.
  5. Trim your stamped image to 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″.
  6. Cut a 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ mat for your image and attach the image to it using scrapbook adhesive.
  7. Attach the layers to the front of your card using foam tape or pop dots.
  8. Decorate your card with ribbon, bows, glitter, flowers, and rhinestones.
  9. Stamp Random Acts of Kindness on the inside of the card.

Make these Random Acts of Kindness Cards to hand out when doing nice things in your community. They are 3x3 and will fit easily into your purse or pocket. Be.Kind.Always.

Now wasn’t that easy?  How many of these could you make in an evening? 10? 25? 100?  Make enough for yourself and make some for your kids and friends to encourage them to be kind.

Here’s one of the ways I’m going to give my Random Acts of Kindness Cards.  I’m going to attach them microwave popcorn and tape them to the Red Box machine.  Inside I’m going to write, “Enjoy popcorn with your movie”.  It’s such a small gesture, but who wouldn’t love getting an expected little treat like that?

What kind of kindness are you going to bring to your community?  Let me know in the comments, or tell me something kind that someone has done for you!

Bohemian Elephant Card With Simply Stamps

March 7, 2017 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

Oh Boy did I step outside of my comfort zone with this Bohemian Elephant Card.  I love elephants, but I rarely do anything with these colors or patterns.  This card was definitely a challenge for me.

This Bohemian Elephant Card features a rubber stamp from Simply Stamps, card stock, and patterned paper.

It seems that I have quite a few elephant cards on my site already, but if you take a look at them, they are  “cute” with flowers and butterflies, birthday packages and balloons.  This Elegant Elephant Craft Stamp by Karmabee is completely different.

If you scroll through my site, you will see right away that I have a preference when it comes to colors and themes.  I love blues, greens, pinks, and turquoise.  You don’t see many jewel tones and not much red, orange, yellow, and gold.

Because this card was a challenge, (and probably a shock to my crafty brain!) I kept the design simple.  It really is good to step outside my comfort zone, but let me take baby steps. 🙂

This Bohemian Elephant Card features a rubber stamp from Simply Stamps, card stock, and patterned paper.

This post is sponsored by Simply Stamps.  They provided me with the stamp and compensation to write this post. All opinions are my own.

Supplies Needed For Bohemian Elephant Card

  • Simply Stamps Elegant Elephant Stamp by Karmabee
  • Tuxedo Black Ink by Momento
  • White Cardsock
  • 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Orange Card Stock
  • 5 1/4″ x 4″ Burgundy Card Stock
  • 5″ x 3 3/4″ Black Card Stock
  • 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ Geometric Patterned Paper
  • Cuttlebug and Embossing Folder
  • E-Z Runner Scrapbook Adhesive
  • Foam Tape
  • Glue Dots

Instructions:

Do you know what a Cuttlebug or Big Shot is?  Sometimes I use them in my projects, but I forget that not everyone has one or knows what they are.

They are handy little machines that cuts and embosses paper.  I have a Cuttlebug, and I use it all the time.  Before I started putting this card together, I ran that black card stock through the Cuttlebug to add embossing.  You can see in the photo below that it added a really cool pattern to the otherwise plain card stock.

This Bohemian Elephant Card features a rubber stamp from Simply Stamps, card stock, and patterned paper.

Now you’re ready to start assembling your card.

  1. Fold the orange card stock in half, and attach the burgundy card stock to the front of the card using scrapbook adhesive.
  2. Attach the black card stock to the burgundy using glue dots. I use glue dots when I’m attaching embossed paper.
  3. Punch the edges of the patterned paper with a border punch, and attach it to the black card stock using glue dots.
  4. Stamp the elephant in black ink on white card stock, and cut it out with scissors.
  5. Attach it to your card using foam tape or pop dots.

This Bohemian Elephant Card features a rubber stamp from Simply Stamps, card stock, and patterned paper.

And there you have it!  Yes, I know I should step outside of my comfort zone more often…..but it’s hard!  I like certain things, and I know what they are.

Check back next week to see another project using this Elegant Elephant.  As soon as you see it, you’ll think….YES!  That’s more her style.
