DIY Fall Dishes with Expressions Vinyl

November 1, 2017 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

I’m so in love with fall this year.  I’m a spring-summer person, and I usually dread fall and the cooler weather.  However, this year, I’m going to enjoy it along with the mums, pumpkins, and autumn colors and decorations.  Expressions Vinyl has adhesive vinyl in beautiful fall colors perfect for making decor this time of year.

I already made some fall decorations using my Cricut Maker, like these Halloween Pumpkins and this set of beautiful Kitchen Towels.

I thought a pretty set of Fall Dishes would be pretty sitting on the china cabinet during November after the Halloween decorations are put away.

Easy Fall Table Decoration

October 24, 2017 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

I don’t have many fall decorations.  I’m not sure why.  I like to decorate outside with pumpkins, gourds, mums, and pansies, but the inside gets neglected.  We are an “outside on-the-go family”, so maybe that’s why.

I made fall paper mache pumpkins , but I wanted something to go with them.  I had a ton of silk leaves in fall colors that I had gotten on clearance years ago.  I thought that an Easy Fall Table Decoration would be a great way to use them.

Paper Mache Pumpkins for Fall Decor

October 5, 2017 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

I don’t do a lot of fall decorating inside my house.  I have one big sunflower centerpiece that I put on my dining room table with a plain fall tablecloth, but that’s about it.

Outside, I put mums, pumpkins, gourds, and pansies, but that’s really the extent of my fall decorating.

Cricut Thanksgiving Place Card

September 30, 2016 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

Sometimes inspiration hits you out of nowhere, like this Cricut Thanksgiving Place Card did.  I have been carrying around this cute little turkey in my button bin for 3 years!

Yes, I know that’s ridiculous!  I guess I was waiting for just the right project to come along.  Marie with The Inspiration Vault asked other crafters to share some Thanksgiving projects, and I knew Tom Turkey would be cute on a Thanksgiving Place Card.

These cooler temperatures really have me thinking about fall.  Maybe it’s not just the cooler temps, but also the commercials for pumpkin spice everything and mums everywhere you look.

I really enjoy spring and summer.  Fall is OK, but I’m not a big fan like some people.

Supplies Needed For Thanksgiving Place Card

  • 5 1/2″ x 4″ Brown Card stock
  • 3 1/2″ Turkey from the Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge
  • 3 1/2″ x 1 3/4″ Piece of Brown Patterned Paper
  • Border Paper Punch
  • Gold gel pen, stick on letters, or Cricut Letters for adding name
  • Orange, Bronze, and Burgundy Stickles
  • E-Z Runner Scrapbook Adhesive
  • Foam Dots or Foam Tape

Instructions for Thanksgiving Place Card

  1. Using the border punch, add a decorative edge to the 4″ side of the card stock.
  2. Fold the brown card stock in half so the decorative edge is at the bottom.
  3. Using the Cricut Expression or Cricut Explore, cut the turkey using the Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge, and assemble the pieces.
  4. Using the E-Z Runner adhesive, attach the patterned paper to the front of the place card.
  5. Use foam tape to attach the turkey to the left side of the place card.
  6. Add a name to your Thanksgiving place card.  Fortunately, my name is short, so I cut the letters out using the Cricut and the Calligraphy Collection font.  If you have a long name, it will be easier to write it in pen.
  7. To finish the place card, I added Stickles glitter to the turkey.

I hope you’re enjoying the fall weather and finding fun harvest crafts to try.  This place card has my mouth watering for turkey, dressing, and pumpkin pie.
