DIY Monogram Note Cards

February 27, 2017 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

I enjoy sending quick notes, and it’s even more fun when they are personalized.  Here are some quick Monogram Note Cards that you can make in an afternoon.
Monogram Note Cards add a personal touch to any greeting. These use a rubber stamp from Simply Stamps. They have tons of wonderful designs to choose from. This set of monogram note cards has simple design so you can make lots of them in an afternoon or evening.

I was give product and compensation for this post.  All opinions are my own.

Simply Stamps has a HUGE selection of stamps that can be customized.  I LOVE their monogram stamps, and this design caught my eye right away.  You know I’m all about the flowers and flourishes.

Since I wanted to make a large quantity of these note cards, I kept the design simple without any frills.  Of course, you could add embellishments to yours if you’d like.

I chose a taupe and black color scheme.  The patterned papers are from Die Cuts With A View, and they have shiny embossing on them, making them really classy looking.  They almost look formal.

I think the next set I make will have bright summery colors, and I might add some paper flowers.  Experiment with different colors, and see what you come up with.

Paper Sizes for Monogram Note Cards

  • Card Base – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
  • Mat – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Card Front – 5″ x 3 3/4″
  • Patterned Paper – 3 3/4″ x 1 3/4″

You could order a stamp and make a set of cards for a friend as a gift.  Tie a pretty ribbon or raffia around the cards and add the monogram stamp so they can use it for other projects.

Easy Easter Card

March 21, 2016 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

Let’s start this week off with an Easy Easter Card!  I love making cards, but sometimes I get so wrapped up with all of the advanced tools and techniques.  I’m going to try making more basic cards to share for those who are just getting started.

Here is an Easy Easter Card to make. I used a Penny Black stamp from the Garden Friends Set, card stock, patterned paper, and circle punches.

Easter is only a week away, so if you want to make Easy Easter Cards, you better “hop” on it.  Get it?  hehe!  Sorry!  I’ve had way too much caffeine today.

Supplies Needed for this Easy Easter Card

  • 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ White card stock for card base

  • 1 1/2″ strip of dotted patterned paper
  • Penny Black Easter Stamp
  • 1 1/2″ circle punch
  • 1 3/4″ circle punch
  • 2″ Scalloped circle punch
  • Scrap of white paper
  • Scrap of light blue paper
  • Scrap of yellow paper
  • Scrapbook Adhesive – If you have trouble choosing adhesive, visit Card Making and Scrapbooking Adhesive to help you choose the kind you need.

Card Instructions

  1. Stamp the Easter Egg on a small scrap of white card stock.  Color it with markers or colored pencils, and punch it out using the 1 1/2″ circle punch.  If you’re new to stamping, read How To Use Rubber Stamps
  2. Using the 1 3/4″ circle punch, cut out a circle from the light blue scrap paper.
  3. Using the scalloped punch, cut out a circle from the yellow scrap paper.
  4. Fold the 8 1/2″ x 11″ card stock in half to form the card base.
  5. Adhere the bright blue card stock to the front of the card.
  6. Attach the dotted paper to the center of the card.
  7. Attach the scalloped circle, plain circle, and Easter Egg to the front of the card as shown.

This is a very basic card that is easy to copy.  Layering the circles and scalloped circle is a simple way to add interest to a handmade card.
