Making Cricut Birthday Cards is Easy!

Here are Cricut Birthday Cards to get your creative juices flowing. I love making birthday cards with my Cricut Machine.  No matter which machine you have, you can get great results.  The layering and all of the shapes on the different and in Cricut Design Space™ really make them stand out.

There are images perfect for kids and adults, feminine and masculine. Add patterned paper, a stamped sentiment, and a few embellishments like buttons or rhinestones, and you will have a fun Cricut Birthday Card that a friend or family member would love to receive.

Here is a great variety of Cricut Birthday Cards. They are great for everyone and so much fun to make!

Party Hat Cricut Birthday Card

Cricut birthday card with party hats using the Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge

I used the Party Hats on the Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge and paper from Bo-Bunny Press to make this Cricut Birthday Card. I love the bright primary colors. This Cricut Birthday Card is perfect for a child or teen, a boy or girl. I added blue rhinestones for a little sparkle. The scalloped ovals were cut using Nestabilities and a Cuttlebug.

By using small amounts of the busy patterned paper and a more subtle dotted pattern, there is a nice balance with lots of texture. I also like to use dimensional dots or squares to pop some of the die cuts to add height.

Cricut Snowman Card

January 7, 2015 by Pam Larmore 25 Comments

It’s dreary and chilly  here today.  I thought this Cricut Snowman Card would cheer you up!   The State Highway is pretreating the roads.  I guess I should watch the weather. They must be calling for some frozen stuff today or tomorrow.

I don’t mind snow and ice.  When the weather is nasty, my boss doesn’t make me work.  I have tons of craft supplies to keep me busy too!

This snowman card is made using the Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge, patterned paper, baker's twine, markers, ribbon, and a little glitter. Post includes a video showing step by step how to cut and assemble the pieces.

Christmas Cricut Tags

December 12, 2014 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

The Cricut is popular for scrapbook pages and for making cards, but have you ever made Cricut Tags for Christmas?  Many of the cartridges have tags with precut holes, but basic shapes can easily be turned into gift tags.

Cricut Christmas Tags - Have you used your Cricut for making tags? There are lots of possibilities and ways to decorate them. You can use Cricut tags on wine bottles, gift bags, and on your Christmas Tree.

Christmas Cricut Tags are useful to have on hand during the holiday season.  They can be used for marking gifts, hanging on gift bags, or added to a bottle of wine.  You can also hang them on the Christmas Tree for inexpensive decorations.  You can make Cricut Tags as simple or elaborate as you want.

Cricut tags are easy enough to make that kids can help you too.  Cut them out in solid colors and let kids decorate them with stickers and markers.

Using the Cricut to Make a Stencil With the Doodlecharms Cartridge

March 1, 2014 by Pam Larmore 5 Comments

Using Cricut as a stencil doodlecharms cartridge

Have you ever used your Cricut to make a stencil?  I have, but I don’t think about doing it very often.  I saw a challenge on Monday over at Bitten By The Bug 2, so I thought I would give it a shot.  Here is the card that I came up with.

I used the Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge to cut the scalloped heart on a piece of scrap paper.  Since I knew I was going to be inking the stencil, I didn’t cut it right to the edge.  I wanted some excess paper around the outside.  Then I positioned my stencil onto white paper.  I held it with my hand, but it would have been easier if I had used  masking tape to hold it.

I used a shade of purple and Calypso Coral ink from Stampin’ Up and lightly sponged the stencil.  Start off lightly.  You can always make it darker.  I did the top half in purple and the bottom in coral and blended them in the middle.  When I thought I had it dark enough, I raised the stencil to see how it looked.  One side was rather light and I didn’t go to the edge, so I put the stencil back down and added a little more ink.

While the stencil was still in place, I use the wildflowers in the Best of Flowers Stampin’ Up Set to stamp several times on the bottom of the heart.  I reinked each time I stamped, because I wanted it to be a bold black.

I stamped Hello My Friend in purple in the lower right corner.  The stamp is from Unity Stamp Co.  I used the Stampin’ Up Inverted Corner to punch the edges and added the pearls in the cut outs.

I’m please with how it turned out.  I love using my Cricut, yet it was something completely different from what I usually do.

Do you ever use your Cricut to cut stencils?  I really like cutting monograms with adhesive vinyl and using etching cream on glass.
