Make an Adorable Dachshund Card

February 5, 2017 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

If these little dachshunds don’t make the cutest card ever, I’ll eat my hat!

My pound dog passed away two years ago.  I’m not ready for another dog yet, but when I am I want a miniature dachshund.  Everyone on Facebook keeps posting pictures of them, and they are so sweet.  I saw a gray one with black speckles, and it melted me heart…awww!

OK OK onto the card….

Dachshund Card Using Oriental Trading Stamp Set - This is a sweet handmade card for Valentine's Day, Anniversary, or any occasion.

The adorable weiner dog stamps came from Oriental Trading Co.  Did you know they had stamps and scrapbooking supplies?  This is a large sheet of stamps, and they were less than $5.00.  What a deal!

Instructions for Dachshund Card

  1. Using the Momento ink, stamp the dachshunds on the water color paper.
  2. Color the dogs with water colors.  I actually used rubber stamping ink.  Let dry.
  3. Stamp small hearts in the background.
  4. Assemble the card using Scrapbooking Adhesive.
  5. Add dots and hearts with the Liquid Pearls.

I’m fairly new to water coloring, and I wasn’t sure that I liked how it looked at first.  With those sweet pups, how can you not love this card?

This is a sweet Valentine’s Day Card, but it could be for other occasions too.  I can’t wait to use the other stamps in this set!

Dog Card Using Copic Markers

Who wouldn’t love to receive a cute little dog card? Especially if the sweet pup was in a basket with pretty spring flowers!

This sweet dog card was colored with Copic Markers. Image by Robyn's Fetish. Paper by Die Cuts With a View

This cute images is from Robyn’s Fetish.   I colored it with Copic Markers, and I realized that I need more shades of browns.  I’m still working on shading. It takes a lot of patience, and even more practice!  I would love to take a class, but there aren’t any near here.  I think I may try an online class when the weather gets too hot to be outside….
