Signs on the Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge

Each character has two signs in the well known Disney fonts and also the character’s signature.  There are also signs that say Love that Mouse, Love that Duck, and Love that Dog.  A Disney sign in the trademark Disney font across a heart is the perfect die cut for any Disney project whether it be party decorations or a Disney Scrapbook.

Other Popular Disney Die Cuts

In the cartoons, there are some other familiar Disney sights.  They include Mickey Mouse’s House, Minnie Mouse’s House, the Disney gas station, Donald Duck’s Tug Boat, the Disney Diner, Pluto’s Dog House, and the Disney Toon Car.

Extras that are Included on the Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge

In addition to the spunky Disney characters, there are other fun shapes included on the Mickey’s Friends Cricut Cartridge.  They are called icons.  These can be used as accents on paper crafting projects or combined with the other die cuts.  There is a border feature that cuts the  icon in a line.

Tips for Cutting the Images on Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge

  1. The characters have some very small pieces.  Don’t cut them too small!  The smallest that I have successfully cut any of these images is 3 1/2″, and it was the Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse with sitting with their hands on their chins.  I suggest cutting the other characters at least 4 1/2″ or 5″ to start.  If you have good luck with those, then try cutting them smaller.
  2. Always start by cutting the base shape in black cardstock.  You will see that there are lines on the die cut showing you where to place the smaller pieces.
  3. A very sticky mat and sharp blade are helpful when cutting small detailed pieces.  If your blade is worn, it will scratch the cardstock instead of making a clean cut.
  4. A Cricut spatula or other Cricut tools will be helpful getting the small pieces off of the adhesive mat.
  5. A pair of small fine tipped scissors.  I like Cutterbees from EK Success are helpful for snipping any small spots that the Cricut doesn’t cut.
  6. A small tipped Zig Glue Pen will be very helpful in attaching the small pieces.

There is a Disney Font cartridge that compliments the Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge.

Some cartridges feature the princesses like The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella.  Another Cricut Cartridge has the Classics like Peter Pan and the Alice and Wonderland characters.

Then there are cartridges dedicated to the Pixar movie characters and the Cars Movie.  You can find more information about all of these at Disney Cricut Cartridges.

Cricut Card With Minnie and Mickey Mouse Die Cut

October 18, 2014 by Pam Larmore 14 Comments

This Minnie and Mickey Mouse die cut captures the Magic of Disney, and I used them to make a great Handmade Card.

Handmade Card Using Minnie and Mickey Die Cuts from the Disney Mickey Mouse and Friends Cricut cartridge.

Whether you are 8 or 80, this Cricut Card featuring a Minnie and Mickey Mouse die cut will surely make you smile.  Their playful hug is sweet enough to give anyone the warm fuzzies.  Mickey and Minnie have been around for years, and they are still the most popular cartoon characters.  This fun card could be used for lots of occasions.  I left the inside blank until I choose the recipient, but I can’t wait to give it to someone.

How to Make this Cricut Card Featuring a Minnie and Mickey Mouse Die Cut

Supplies Needed:

  • 5″ x 10″ piece of white cardstock for the card base.  Because this is a larger card, you will want a heavy weight paper for the base.  Otherwise, it won’t stand up.
  • 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ piece of paper for the background.  I chose a red glittered stripe, but you could use a solid color, embossed paper, glitter paper, or rubber stamped background.
  • 2″ x 4 3/4″ piece of patterned paper (Mine has glitter dots.)
  • 3″ x 4 3/4″ of solid cardstock to border the patterned paper.  (Mine is black.)
  • Border punch
  • 4″ Minnie and Mickey Mouse die cut from the Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge
  • Scrapbook Adhesive

Instructions

  1. Fold the white cardstock base in half so that you have a 5″x5″ card.
  2. Attach the background paper.
  3. Using a border punch edge the 3″ x 4 3/4″ cardstock.  I used a border punch from Stampin’ Up.  It is very thin, but if you use a thicker border punch, you will need a wider piece of cardstock.
  4. Attach your patterned piece of paper to the paper with the borders, and attached them both to the card base.  Because my background paper is glittered, I used glue dots so they will hold better.
  5. Attach the Minnie and Mickey Mouse die cuts to the card.  I used pop dots to give the card some dimension.
  6. To finish the card, I added a little Fruit Punch Stickles Glitter Glue to Minnie’s bow and shoes.

The Disney Cricut Cartridges die cuts have lots of tiny pieces for the eyes and mouth for example.  I cut this at 4″, and I don’t recommend cutting it any smaller.  Because the Minnie & Mickey die cut is large, I really didn’t need a lot of embellishments.  If you made the card 6″x6″, you would have room for ribbon, buttons, or other decorations.  This is an odd size card, but fits into a 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ envelope.
