Heart Shaped Cricut Love Card

January 14, 2018 by Pam Larmore 5 Comments

My Cricut Maker Machine never ceases to amaze me.   It cuts the tiniest holes and most intricate pieces, which is exactly what I needed for this Cricut Love Card.

When I spotted this card in Cricut Design Space, with all of it’s wonderful layers, I knew that I wanted to make it.  I also knew that it would be a lot of work, but it would be worth the extra effort.

I’m joining some talented ladies to bring you awesome Valentine’s Day Cricut Projects.  I will be bringing you more Craft And Create Projects this year.   Make sure you check them out after looking at my card.

Ladybug Card Using Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge

February 7, 2014 by Pam Larmore 3 Comments

If you’re not ready for Valentine’s Day, how about making a ladybug card using this heart using the Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge.  This sweet ladybug is great for Valentine’s Day, but it could be for other occasions too.

Ladybug Card using the Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge - This could be a sweet Valentine's Day Card or for another occasion.

Paper Sizes for Ladybug Card

  • Card base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ folded in half.
  • Pink mat is 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Dotted Background is 5″ x 3 3/4″
  • Striped paper is 5″ x 1 1/2″

I stuck with a simple card layout using three coordinating patterned papers.  The papers are mainly pink with splashes of lime green, dark brown, and tan.  The ribbon is bias tape from Stampin’ Up.  I love how easy it is to work with.  I was even able to tie a pretty decent looking knot with it.

For the cutie patootie ladybug, I cut the base in black.  You will notice that there are two layers to the head.  The one piece with the antennae is lime green, and the overlay piece is cut in pink.  The hearts on the ladybug’s back and antennae are the perfect accents.

I added fruit punch Stickles to the hearts on the antennae and wiggly eyes.  This love bug is perfect for Valentine’s Day, but she would also be perfect for a baby shower or kid’s birthday card.

The Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge is so much fun!  All of the shapes are perfect for kids projects.  All of the holidays and seasons are highlighted with lots of accessories for these great animals.

Here’s another Ladybug Cricut Card that I made.  This one uses the Create A Critter 1 Cricut Cartridge.

Handmade Valentine’s Card Using Fancy Frames Cricut Cartridge

February 4, 2014 by Pam Larmore 12 Comments

I have another new toy….well actually, I don’t have it.  My friend, Shirley has it, and she’s a good sharer.  Thanks Shirley!  She recently bought the Fancy Frames Cricut Cartridge, and I just had to try it out.

I was planning on using Fancy Frames for scrapbook pages, but it will also work nicely on cards.  There is a variety of frames with an added detail on each one.  For example, on this frame, there is the swirl on the left corner.  I love the shape of this frame and how it highlights the little Valentine girl holding her box of chocolates.  (It might not be chocolates.  It could just be a card, but I’d like to think there are oooey gooey caramels in there.

OK enough day dreaming!  The patterned papers are from a Die Cuts With A View Stack.  There were three papers that coordinated and even though they weren’t Valentine papers, they still worked for this card.

The image is from Digi Garden.  I love their sweet kids, but they are no longer available since the owner and designer passed away last year.  I miss seeing her posts on Facebook and looking at all the great projects on her blog.

I colored the image with Copic Markers.  I’m still learning!  Right after I finished this, my Blog Friends told us how difficult it is to use red without it bleeding.  Yep….I found that out the hard way!  I’m still having trouble doing hair, but I’ll keep practicing.  I just got some new gray Copics, and used them for her shoes.  I think the pinks on the heart turned out OK too.

To finish the card, I added 2 Prima flowers with a red brad in the center and 5 adhesive rhinestones in the upper right corner.

The Fancy Frames Cricut Cartridge is available on Amazon.  It features lots of wonderful frames for scrapbooking, card making, and other paper crafting projects.  Some of the frames are very ornate, and others don’t feature as much detail.
