Moo-chas Gracias Cow Cricut Card Using Create A Critter

July 13, 2017 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

Moochas Gracias for visiting my Blog today!

This cute Cricut Cow will surely make someone smile. This lonely little cow has been sitting on my work table for awhile.

Make a Cricut Cow Card using the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge, a stamp from My Pink Stamper and some border punches.

Sometimes when I’m working on a project, I’ll cut out an extra of something in case I make a mistake or in case I need an extra.  I hate having leftover pieces parts of projects sitting everywhere, but I always end up with them on my work table.  I found a fun way to use this Cricut Cow though.

The patterned paper is from a 6×6 stack from Stampin’ Up.  I got it as a hostess gift for holding a workshop.  There are five colors in the stack, and each color has 8 different patterns.

I love being able to mix and match patterns on my cards.  It makes designing them really easy.

Paper Sizes For Cricut Cow Card:

  • Card base – White 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ (folded in half)
  • Mat – Black 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Pink Patterned Papers – 5″ x 2″ (There are two different papers.  They overlap slightly so you can see the black mat.  Make sure you tie your ribbon around the printed card stock and mat before attaching them to your card.  This will keep you from seeing the ribbon on the inside of the card.
  • 5″ strip of black card stock.  If your punch is deeper, you might need a wider piece.  The bug border is an old punch from Martha Stewart, but I love it.  The thin scalloped punch is by Stampin’ Up.

You can see that I put pop dots under the cow to give the card more dimension.

The Moo-chas Gracias is from My Pink Stamper. The Cricut cow is from the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge.  That cartridge has so many awesome animals on it.

Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge Review

May 10, 2016 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

No Cricut Cartridge collection is complete without the Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge.  I always need animals for my Cricut Projects.  They can be used for the zoo, jungle, circus, baby, camping, farm, and pet themed crafts.

The Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge features all kinds of animals, phrases, bookmarks, borders, and more. They are great for school projects, bulletin boards, cards, party decorations, and scrapbook pages.

Many of the Cricut Cartridges have animals, but these are more realistic than those on the other cartridges.  These aren’t quite as cartoonish and whimsical, and they are great for posters, school projects, bulletin boards, and more.

The Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge features all kinds of animals, phrases, bookmarks, borders, and more. They are great for school projects, bulletin boards, cards, party decorations, and scrapbook pages.

Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge Features

As great as the animals are on this cartridge, some awesome extras are included too.  You can cut just the animal’s head, the sound that the animal makes, borders, and a cool bookmark with the animal on it.

The animal sounds would be so sweet for a baby book.  The heads can be used on name tags or as cupcake toppers.

Kids would love decorating bookmarks to use during English Class.

What Can I Create With the Cricut Explore Machine?

June 26, 2015 by Pam Larmore 8 Comments

So you got a Cricut Explore Machine One or Cricut Explore Air for Christmas, now what?!?!  I got an Explore One last year for Christmas and I LOVE it!  Here are pictures of some of the things that I have made.

Learn What You Can Cut With the Cricut Explore Machine - Cricut Explore One and Cricut Explore Air

Custom Personalized Sign made with the Cricut Explore

I made this customized sign using the Cricut Explore and a wood slice. It was an awesome wedding gift!

Want the ability to easily make a personalized wedding gift or perhaps some unique home décor? Then you might find Cricut electronic cutting machines to be the best DIY crafting tool since the sewing machine.

I designed and created the Personalized Cricut Sign using the Explore for a wedding present.  The bride and groom loved it!

This Cricut Snowman Card was made using the Cricut Explore.

I made this fun snowman card using the Cricut Explore. I designed it in Cricut Design Space, which was pretty easy. I like how you can see the size of things before you cut them. For example, with the Expressions, you think cutting something at 2″ is the right size, then it turns out much smaller than you imagine.

This Snowman card was so much fun to make.  The snowmen are on the Snow Folks Cricut Cartridge, but I didn’t have it.  However, it was included with my subscription to the Cricut Craft Room.

Creating your own projects is fun, but one of the coolest things about the Cricut Explore Machine is all of the free projects that the Cricut Access Subscription offers.  There are always free images and pre-made projects.  I love going there when I’m stuck for an idea. See all the Free Projects in Cricut Design Space.

Gold Glitter Christmas Bucket - I used loose glitter, and craft vinyl from Angel Direct Products to make this great little project.

I turned this gold Dollar Store Bucket into a beautiful Christmas Decoration by adding a gold strip of glitter and the work “Joy” in adhesive vinyl using the Cricut Explore.

This Gold Joy Bucket was such a simple project, yet it’s beautiful!  I was so happy with how easy it was and how pretty it turned out.

Make these Halloween Mason Jars using Cricut Vinyl. They are great for decorations, luminaries, or holding candy for a Halloween Party.

These Halloween Mason Jars were such a fun project. You only need a few supplies to create a great project!

You will be surprised how easy these Halloween Mason Jars are to make.

There are two machines that Cricut currently offers on their site:

  • Cricut Explore One™
  • Cricut Explore Air™

Cricut Explore One™

Cricut Explore One™ is a simple design-and-cut system. It’s versatile, easy to use, cuts very precisely, and is also incredibly affordable. With its irresistibly low price and limitless cutting potential, the Explore One is perfect for a new or beginning crafter. Here are a few notable features of the Explore One.

Monogram shirt Cricut Explore Bride

With the Cricut Explore Machine, you can design and cut monograms and personalized out of heat transfer vinyl.  I made these monogrammed shirts for my daughter and her bridesmaids.

Materials to Cut With the Cricut Explore Machine

All Cricut Explore machines can cut an unbelievable variety of materials, for example:

  • Paper
  • Vinyl
  • Iron-on
  • Craft materials
  • Upcycled materials
  • Fabric
  • Plastic
  • Thick materials
Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge - Owl Card

Use the Cricut Explore to create handmade cards. There are tons of shapes for every occasion, frames, decorative accents, and sentiments available in Cricut Design Space. Click the image for more details.

Precision – Features Cut Smart™ technology, which allows you to cut a wide range of shapes and sizes with exceptional precision, from ¼” tall up to 11½” wide x 23½” tall.

Smart Set® Dial – Each machine features a Smart Set® dial, which sets your settings (e.g. speed, pressure, etc.) for you so you don’t have to keep track of them. You just select the material that you’re using on the Smart Set® dial and the machine’s Cut Smart® technology will deliver a clean, professional cut.

Images and Fonts – You can upload your own images and fonts for free on all three Cricut cutting machines.

Cartridges – Both machines work with any Cricut cartridge and have the capability to hold all of your cartridges “virtually” in the cloud within your Cricut Design Space online software. So once you’ve loaded a cartridge, you’ll have it everywhere you go.

Cricut’s Design Space™ and iPad® app – All Cricut Explore machines work hand-in-hand with Cricut’s Design Space™ (for PC, Mac®, iPad®, and iPhone®) that you get access to for free.

Cricut Explore Air™

The Explore Air is the whole kit ‘n caboodle. It offers all the impressive features mentioned for the Explore One, but two key things set it apart:

  1. It has a dual carriage for cutting and writing or cutting and scoring in one step. If you do a lot of paper crafting, this is the machine for you!
  2. It has built-in Bluetooth® capability. You just use Cricut’s free iPad app and design anything you want from your iPad, just like you would on your home computer, but with the convenience of being able to take your projects with you anywhere. Then, you can just wirelessly send your project from your iPad to your Explore Air to bring it to life.

Now that you know a lot more about how Cricut Explore® machines work, I’ll focus next week’s post on how you can design here, there and everywhere with Cricut Design Space. You’ll be blown away by how easy it is.

Lorrie Nunemaker on YouTube has great videos showing you how the Cricut Explore works and the fun projects you can make.

Until then … Happy crafting!

Make This Easy Pig Cricut Card

August 30, 2014 by Pam Larmore 5 Comments

I have a fun Pig Cricut Card to share today for my design team spot at My Cricut Craft Room.  I have a friend who loves pigs, and this silly pink pig makes perfect cards!

Pig Cricut Card Using the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge - Hog & Kisses by My Pink Stamper

I am at a weekend crop at a local hotel.  I’ve been working on some other Cricut Projects, so I will have more fun things to share soon.

I started the weekend by cutting a few things from the Country Life Cricut Cartridge.  I thought I had used it, but the tape was still on the cartridge, so I guess I hadn’t.  I need to get with it!!!  There are tons of fun shapes on that cartridge!

Pig Cricut Card Using the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge - Hog & Kisses by My Pink Stamper

How To Make this Pig Cricut Card

Ok onto my Pig Cricut Card.  I used the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge to cut this cute 3 1/2″ piggy.  The base of this card is a piece of white 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ cardstock folded in half.  The patterned papers are from the Nana’s Nursery – Baby Girl Stack by Die Cuts With a View.  I used the lime green dotted paper for the background.  It measures 5 1/4″ x 4″.  The striped paper is 5″ x 1 1/2″, and the floral paper is 5″ x 3″.  I tied a pink ribbon where the papers meet to cover the seam.

The Hogs & Kisses stamp is from My Pink Stamper.  I stamped it on a long rectangle, then trimmed the edge.  I added three pink pearls as accents to finish the front of the card.

Pig Cricut Card Using the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge - Hog & Kisses by My Pink Stamper - Inside of Card

I don’t always decorate the inside of my card, but I had leftover scraps that were the perfect size.  I added a small Prima flower to the lower right corner.  I just bought the Martha Stewart Branch Punch, and knew it would make great leaves to go behind the flower.  I added a tiny drop of Eucalyptus Stickles Glitter Glue to the center of flower.

The Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge is one of my favorites, and has lots of adorable animals.

Here are more cards using that Cartridge.
