Make a Banner With the Cricut

June 22, 2016 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

I’ve had my Cricut Explore for over a year, and I LOVE it!  I had a Cricut Expressions first and loved it too, so I wasn’t sure that I was going to enjoy the Explore as much.

I have found that the Explore is AWESOME for designing projects!  It really takes the guess work out of what sizes to use for your die cuts.  If you have an Expression Machine, I’m sure you know what I mean.  You cut something a 3″ and it’s too small, so you cut it at 3 1/2″.  Then it’s too big, so you cut it one more time at 3 1/4″!

Use your Cricut to make a banner! I made this Bride To Be Banner for my daughter's bridal shower. You can make banners for any theme and personalize them for your party. The Cricut makes them really easy to decorate!

Personalized Cricut Explore Sign

March 8, 2016 by Pam Larmore 1 Comment

I love to give personalized gifts, but sometimes they can be rather pricey.  When I got my new machine, I was so happy that I was going to be able to create a Cricut Explore Sign each time I needed one.
This Cricut Explore Sign was an awesome project to give as a gift. I used Cricut vinyl, transfer tape, stain. acrylic sealer, and a premade wood disk.

Craft Vinyl – Angel Direct Products Review

December 2, 2015 by Pam Larmore 5 Comments

When I received a roll of Angel Direct Products vinyl, it looked pretty ordinary, however when I started using it, I had an “AHA! Moment”.

Angel Crafts Products - You will love craft vinyl from Angel Crafts. I was amazed at what a difference a small packing change could make. Here is a fun craft that I made using it. It can be used with the Cricut Explore, Silhouette, and other cutting machines.

Normally, when you receive vinyl, it is rolled tightly into a small roll, but the Angel Direct Products vinyl was on a 2 1/2″ cardboard core.  Honestly, I didn’t think that it would make much difference, but YES IT DOES!

Fighting with a 12×12 piece of adhesive vinyl is sort of like trying to stuff 5 frisky cats into a cardboard box.  You need lots of hands and even more patience!  Even then, you end up with a few scratches, a torn box, and a mouthful of expletives!

I was sent this product at no charge in exchange for a review.  All opinions are my own.  I would never endorse a product that I found unsatisfactory.

Because Angel Direct Products vinyl is on a larger core, it unrolls easier and doesn’t curl so bad. Ahhhhh!  Now there’s music to my ears!  Curling vinyl isn’t too bad if you are working on a small project, but when you’re making a large sign, it’s down right aggravating!

Gold Glitter Christmas Bucket - I used loose glitter, and craft vinyl from Angel Direct Products to make this great little project.

How I Decorated this Bucket Using Angel Direct Products Vinyl

During Blitsy’s Black Friday Sleepover Party, the last challenge was to make something gold.  I don’t have much gold, and there was a time limit.  So, I was a little rushed!

I had this decorative gold bucket that I bought last year.  I thought it would look good with some gold glitter trim.

  1.  I used a paint brush to apply a Mod Podge stripe to the bucket.  If there hadn’t been a deadline, I would have taped off the stripe with painters tape, so the edges would be even and crisp.
  2. While the Mod Podge was still wet, I sprinkled it with gold ultra fine glitter.
  3. I used the Cricut Explore to cut the word “joy” out of craft vinyl from Angel Direct Products.
  4. Using application tape, I adhered the “joy” to the bucket.

This was a really quick project, but I love how it turned out!  I’m trying to find a small white Christmas Cactus to put in it.  Watch this video for more crafty information.

As a side note, I LOVE glitter!  It’s a good thing too.  I was wearing black and had gold glitter all over me.  It also made me sneeze and cough, and I had it all over my laptop.  I think it was rather festive.  Nothing like a little sparkle and shine to kick off the Christmas season!

Cricut Sunflower Stretch Your Imagination Card

September 10, 2014 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

Today I have a Cricut Sunflower Card for my end of summer Design Team Post for My Cricut Craft Room.  I’m sad to see summer come to an end, but I will be buying chrysanthemums, pansies, gourds, and pumpkins soon.

Cricut Sunflower Card Using the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut Cartridge

Instructions for this Cricut Sunflower Card

I used a piece of sunshine yellow for the card base.  It measures 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.  This is a standard size for a card.  It will fit into an A2 Invitation size envelope.

Then I added a layer of pumpkin orange cardstock that measures 5 1/4″ x 4″.  The top layer has an off white background and a faint golden yellow print.  It measures 5″ x 3 3/4″.  I used a Martha Stewart Punch down the right side.

I cut the 4″ sunflower using the Cricut Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge.  I used the layers feature to make the flower different colors.  I started with a brown base.  Then I added the green leaves and finally the gold flower.

The center of the flower is cut out so that the brown centers shows through from the base. Before attaching the mats to the card base, I tied a yellow dotted ribbon bow around them.

I didn’t add a sentiment, since I’m not sure how the card will be used.  I have a few ladies who love buying my cards without sentiments so they can send well wishes to let friends know that they are thinking of them.  What a kind gesture!

The Cricut Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge is very versatile with die cut shapes for lots of occasions and seasons.  Here are some other Stretch Your Imagination Projects that you might enjoy.

Cricut Sign Using Forever Young Cartridge

June 22, 2014 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

I made this great Cricut sign for my niece.  The Cricut is so versatile and can be used for all kinds of crafts.  When I first got this amazing machine, I only used it for scrapbook pages.  Then I started using it to craft handmade cards.  Now, I’m starting to use it to its full potential.
