I have a super fun project to share today. Do you watch Big Bang Theory? My husband and I are HUGE fans. We don’t do much for Valentine’s Day, but when I came up with this card, I knew it was perfect for him.
My husband and I have been through a lot together over the past 3 months. I won’t go into details, but my goodness it has really made me appreciate him.
We aren’t ones to exchange gushy-mushy, lovey-dovey cards, but this one is so “US”. We can both relate to this. If you watch the TV Show, you will know that Sheldon has a seat on the sofa, that he LOVES, and he calls it “his spot”. Nobody else is allowed to sit in Sheldon’s spot!

Supplies I used to make this Big Bang Theory Card
8 1/2″ x 11″ White Card Stock folded in half to create the card base
5 1/2″ x 8 1/4″ Black Card Stock (mat on front)
4″ x 6 3/4″ Black Card Stock (mat on front)
3 3/4″ x 6 1/2″ Black Card Stock (mat for inside)
5″ x 8″ Red Glitter Paper
6 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ White Card Stock (front of card)
3 3/4″ x 6 1/4″ White Card Stock (Inside of card)
Black Crayola Ultra Clean Fine Line Washable Marker
Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine
Atom and a tiny heart die cuts from using the Cricut Explore in red glitter paper
E-Z Runner Scrapbook Adhesive
Zig Glue Pen
When I was designing this card, I was trying to come up with some type of die cut shape, rubber stamp, or embellishment to go under the saying.
The characters on Big Bang Theory work in the science field at a University, so I thought an atom would be a fun symbol. I knew I didn’t have an atom rubber stamp, and I can’t draw AT ALL.
Thank goodness I found this atom shape in Cricut Design Space, and it’s available with Cricut Access. I was worried that the rings on the atom (are they the neutrons?? ) would be too thin and difficult to cut. This is a larger card, so it wasn’t a problem. I put a heart in the center where the nucleus should be (see I know a little about chemistry…..or is it physics? Haha!)
I did this post as part of the Bling on the Love Blog Hop. Seven of my crafty friends and I collaborated to make projects with sparkle and Valentine’s Day to inspire us.
I LOVE glitter, sparkles, bling, and rhinestones. Since this card is for my husband, I wasn’t sure that glitter was going to work on this card, but it does!
By combining glitter paper with black and white card stock, I was able to keep it masculine, but “Valentiney”.
I’m not crazy about using glitter paper with my Cricut, because loose glitter ruins the mat. This paper has lots of shine, but no loose glitter, so it was fine.
Sheldon has trouble understanding sarcasm, but when he masters it and someone believes him, he says, “Bazinga!” Gosh I love that show.
I used the Cricut Explore’s writing feature with a Crayola Ultra Clean Fine Line Washable Pen for the front and the inside of the card. The font for the front and most of the inside is called Cricut Alphabet. It’s a cool looking font, but you can’t do it too small or the letters run together making it hard to read.
I can’t remember the name of this font that I used for the “Bazinga!”, and it wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, but it works.
And there you have it! Thank you to everyone who guessed on the P.S. I Love You Crafts Facebook page when I asked…..I Love You more than what?
Chocolate, Cupcakes, Crafting, the Cricut, and making cards are all great guesses, but nothing beats the love that Sheldon has for His Spot!
