Cricut Belated Birthday Card

I hope I’m not the only one who forgets birthdays! I made a handful of Cricut Belated Birthday Cards to keep on hand for all of the celebrations that I forget.

How could anyone get too upset for missing their birthday if you sent them a Cricut Belated Birthday Card with this adorable bumble bee on it???

This cutie is from the Cricut Create A Critter Cartridge. That cartridge has the most adorable animals on it!! Provocraft has released a Create A Critter 2, but I haven’t bought it yet. I wonder if the critters are as easy to assemble as with the original Cricut Cartridge?

Update: I treated myself to the Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge, and I love it just as much as the first one. The animals are just as cute, and they are dressed for lots of fun occasions.

The Designer Paper is from a Stampin’ Up 6×6 stack that I got last year during Sale-A-Bration. The solid papers are all from Bazzill. I love the texture and weight or Bazzill cardstock!

Paper Sizes:

Card Base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Black mat is 5 1/4″ x 4″
Patterned Paper is 5″ x 3 3/4″

I cut the bee at 3″. Because the critters don’t have many tiny pieces, you can cut them fairly small. They are adorable on party favors and cupcake picks.

Cricut Turtle Card

This spunky Cricut turtle in his spiffy top hat makes an adorable birthday card for a little boy. I also used him to make a Welcome Baby card, and the Mom loved it! The nursery was decorated with turtles and she thought it was so sweet that I remembered and made a card just for them.

You could also change the turtle to pink or purple for a little girl.

Instructions for Cricut Turtle Card

I used an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock for the card base and folded it in half. I prefer to use Bazzill Textured cardstock, because it has a nice thickness which allows the cards to stand up nicely. I chose three coordinating patterned papers to complete the card. I love putting different patterns together, like strips, polka dots, and plaids. As long as the colors coordinate, they make for a wonderful card.

I used a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of large dotted paper for the background. Then I cut a strip of striped paper 5 1/4″ x 1 1/2″. I layered a piece of blue cardstock on top of it that matches the card base. It measures 5 1/4″ x 1″. A piece of white Stampin’ Up binding ribbon tied on top adds a nice touch to the card.

I cut the Cricut turtle at 3″, using a black base and layering the other pieces on top of it. The main part of the body are green with a small white dot. The shell and hat are light blue plain that matches the other printed papers. I attached the turtle using Pop dots to add dimension.

To finish the Cricut turtle card I stamped, “Happy Birthday” using the Teeny Tiny Wishes set from Stampin’ Up, and punching it out in a small oval. I punched a scalloped oval in green cardstock and layered the two.

I love the Create a Critter Cartridge so much that when Provocraft introduced Create a Critter 2 Cartridge , I just had to have it! It features a lot of the same fun animals with the addition of hats, hearts, and other props, making them perfect for holiday projects.

The cards that I have made using them have turned out great! I can’t wait to make party favors, decorations, and treat bags for Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Birthday Parties.

Cricut Lion Birthday Card Using Create A Critter Cartridge

This Cricut Lion is not so cowardly, and he is just the perfect creature for telling a little boy “Happy Birthday”!

I thought I’d bring you a bright and cheery Create A Critter Card on this nasty, rainy day. This silly Cricut lion from the Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge is the perfect way to send Birthday wishes.

How I Made this Cricut Lion Card

I cut the lion at 3″ using black as the base. The papers are retired from Stampin’ Up, and were great for a child’s birthday card. The label punch and “Happy Birthday Wishes” stamp are also from Stampin’ Up. I added an orange dotted ribbon tied in a knot to finish it off.

Bird Birthday Card Using Create A Critter 2

Elephant and Snail Cricut Cards Using Create A Critter Cartridge

While I had these coordinating papers out for a Hippo Birthday Card, I thought I’d make a few more cute cards. This elephant and the snail Cricut Cards work well with this color scheme.

The Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge is Tons of Fun and so is this elephant card!

To save time, I cut lots of shapes using the same Cricut Cartridge, then assemble them. I have them all ready when I’m ready to make cards.

I will choose papers that coordinate and make several cards at one time using those papers. It is more productive than making one card start to finish all at the same time.

Here is a Snail Cricut card that I made using the same colors as the elephant card. I changed the layout, but used all the same supplies. Everyone is happy to get a little Snail Mail.

The Snail Mail and Tons of Fun sentiments are from My Pink Stamper. I added lavender Stickles glitter glue to the elephant and lavender and patina Stickles to the snail.

Both Cricut Cards start with these same supplies:

8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Cardstock folded in half to create a card base.
5 1/4″ x 4″ Green cardstock mat
5″ x 3 3/4″ purple patterned mat

The Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge has the cutest animals. Most of them can be used for any occasion, but there are lots of critters that can be used for special holidays. They are perfect for cards, scrapbook pages, party favors, and other paper crafts.

I love the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge, and I’m starting to get addicted to Elegant Edges as well. I created this Hippo Birthday Card Using them.

Create A Critter has tons of fun animals including this cute hippo. Who wouldn’t like to receive this card wishing them a “Hippo Birthday”.

I find that I am more productive if I cut a bunch of shapes at one time. Then I have them all ready when I sit to make cards. It saves me a lot of time. So while I was creating, I also did these Elephant and Snail Cricut Cards.
