Cricut Adult Beverage Set

April 2, 2018 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

I’m having one of those weeks…well one of those months actually.  My 17 year old dishwasher and washing machine are on their last leg, the dryer sounded like a machine gun, and we have a bath tub leaking between the walls.  To top it all off, my husband and I are in the process of ordering new windows and doors for the entire house.  Cha-ching!

The sayings on this pouch and mug are perfect for me right now.

DIY Fall Dishes with Expressions Vinyl

November 1, 2017 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

I’m so in love with fall this year.  I’m a spring-summer person, and I usually dread fall and the cooler weather.  However, this year, I’m going to enjoy it along with the mums, pumpkins, and autumn colors and decorations.  Expressions Vinyl has adhesive vinyl in beautiful fall colors perfect for making decor this time of year.

I already made some fall decorations using my Cricut Maker, like these Halloween Pumpkins and this set of beautiful Kitchen Towels.

I thought a pretty set of Fall Dishes would be pretty sitting on the china cabinet during November after the Halloween decorations are put away.

Coming up with gift ideas for friends and family that have everything is difficult, but these DIY Personalized Buckets using the Cricut Explore or the Cricut Maker are a great idea.

My husband and I had been invited to a wedding in three years, but wouldn’t you know, a few weeks ago we had two in one day.  Both of the couples are awesome, and fortunately both weddings were in the same town.

Moo-chas Gracias Cow Cricut Card Using Create A Critter

July 13, 2017 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

Moochas Gracias for visiting my Blog today!

This cute Cricut Cow will surely make someone smile. This lonely little cow has been sitting on my work table for awhile.

Make a Cricut Cow Card using the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge, a stamp from My Pink Stamper and some border punches.

Sometimes when I’m working on a project, I’ll cut out an extra of something in case I make a mistake or in case I need an extra.  I hate having leftover pieces parts of projects sitting everywhere, but I always end up with them on my work table.  I found a fun way to use this Cricut Cow though.

The patterned paper is from a 6×6 stack from Stampin’ Up.  I got it as a hostess gift for holding a workshop.  There are five colors in the stack, and each color has 8 different patterns.

I love being able to mix and match patterns on my cards.  It makes designing them really easy.

Paper Sizes For Cricut Cow Card:

  • Card base – White 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ (folded in half)
  • Mat – Black 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Pink Patterned Papers – 5″ x 2″ (There are two different papers.  They overlap slightly so you can see the black mat.  Make sure you tie your ribbon around the printed card stock and mat before attaching them to your card.  This will keep you from seeing the ribbon on the inside of the card.
  • 5″ strip of black card stock.  If your punch is deeper, you might need a wider piece.  The bug border is an old punch from Martha Stewart, but I love it.  The thin scalloped punch is by Stampin’ Up.

You can see that I put pop dots under the cow to give the card more dimension.

The Moo-chas Gracias is from My Pink Stamper. The Cricut cow is from the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge.  That cartridge has so many awesome animals on it.

Cuttlebug Sale

September 26, 2014 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

There is a HUGE sale over at the Cricut website! Do you own a Cuttlebug?  If you don’t, this is a great time to buy one.  Cricut is having a Cuttlebug Sale.  The machines are on sale, and so are a lot of the embossing folders and cutting dies.  Cricut Mats and supplies are on sale too.  AND….I know….it just keeps getting better!  There is a code for FREE SHIPPING at the bottom of this post.

Cuttlebug Start Card

The white embossed background on this card was made using the Cuttlebug. The stars are from the Cricut, and I added buttons to the stars to embellish it.

A Cuttlebug is a hand crank machine that embosses paper to give it a texture.  You can emboss card backgrounds, die cuts, and even dinner napkins to make them fancy.

If you use cardstock that has a different color core, you can lightly sand the paper after embossing to get a really nice effect.  You can also ink over the raised areas to highlight them and make them stand out. This machine features a carry handle and fold down platform, making it easy to take to crops and to store.  It comes with the plates needed to cut and emboss.

You can use folders and dies from other manufacturers.  I personally use Stampin’ Up, Big Shot, and Nestabilities with my machine, and they work great.  Many stamp companies are offering thin dies that coordinate with their stamp sets, and they will work with the Cuttlebug.

Here is another card using the Cuttlebug. It's a very simple card using plain cardstock, a small piece of ribbon, and a button. I used two different embossing folders for the texture on this card.

So many companies are making embossing folders now, and there are tons of patterns from which to choose.  There are all kinds of themes and holidays.  Some embossing folders may be small with a sentiment and others are long and thing and can be used for borders.

The Cuttlebug would make a great gift for a crafter.  It’s not too early to start thinking about Christmas.  We’re less than 100 days away from the big day!  The embossing folders and Cricut accessories make great stocking stuffers.  I’d love to find Cricut Blades and dies under my Christmas Tree.

This photo shows the two different embossed patterns. The mat is a small dotted pattern which is versatile for any occasion and theme. The floral pattern is great for larger areas.
