Craft Room Challenge – Week 3 – Purging and Sorting

January 24, 2018 by Pam Larmore 4 Comments

I can’t believe how quickly the Craft Room Challenge is flying by, and I’m so pleased with my progress.

Sorting, purging, separating, organizing, and dusting are not my favorite things, but when I  can see progress it encourages me to keep going.

Do you remember how my room looked when the Craft Room Challenged started?  Go look at my BEFORE PICTURES.

Another week of the Craft Room Challenge 2018 is in the books. I made great progress. I got my punches organized and my desk cleaned off again. #craftroomchallenge #craftroom

Craft Room Challenge Week #3

January 17, 2018 by Pam Larmore 2 Comments

I’ve been working on my craft room for 2 weeks now.  In Week #1,  I showed you what I was starting out with.  Boy was it a doozy!  It’s still in the “hot mess” stage, but it’s getting better.

I've been working on my Craft Room for two weeks for the Craft Room Challenge. I have rearranged furniture which has been a big help, but I still have lots of supplies that need homes. I'm working on craft room organization now. #confessyourmess #craftroomchallenge2018

Craft Room Challenge 2018 Week #2

January 10, 2018 by Pam Larmore 5 Comments

Welcome to week #2 of the Craft Room Challenge.   Are you working on your craft space?

Have you been following along with everyone’s progress in the Facebook Group?  You can also follow along using #craftroomchallenge and #confessyourmess on Twitter and Instagram.

If you saw last week’s “Before” photos and video, you know that I had my work cut out for me.

Guess what!?!?  I got my work table cleaned off enough to work on a Valentine’s Day Cricut Project.  Now, that’s quite an accomplishment.

Here's Week #2 of the Craft Room Challenge. I'm making great progress. I cleaned off my work table so I can work, and I can not sit in my chair. #craftroom #craftroomchallenge #confessyourmess

There’s my chair!  And the only thing it has in it is the pillow that belongs there.  My crafty friend Joy,  made this pillow for me, and I cherish it.  It is tea stained off white fabric, and she embroidered my website name on the front.  I especially love the mix match pink and brown buttons on the side.  She’s so talented!

Not only is this pillow pretty, but it’s functional too.  This chair is so comfortable when I put the pillow behind my lower back.

I found my craft mat under all that stuff.  The supplies in this photo are leftovers from my Valentine’s Day Project that I did on Sunday.  I have a horrible horrible habit of not putting my supplies away.  Ughhhh!  That’s how everything gets so piled up.  I really need to work on that.

So what did I have on my Craft Table and chair?  Yes, my chair had stuff in it, so I couldn’t even sit down.

  • Baby Sweater (No, I don’t even have a baby!)
  • Empty Scrapbook Album
  • Broken Lamp
  • Pens, pencils, markers
  • 2 pints of glitter
  • 3 teal glass candle holders
  • Scrap paper…tons of scrap paper!
  • Handmade Cards
  • Full sheets of cardstock
  • Overloaded Tool Tote
  • Assorted Photos
  • Magazine article
  • Stampin’ Up Catalog
  • Spare Paper Trimmer
  • Spray paint
  • Acrylic Sealer
  • Hot Pink acrylic paint
  • 2 bags of Ghirardelli…YES!!!  Now that was a major find.

I love that the Craft Room Challenge is broken down into manageable parts, over the course of a month.  The only thing we needed to accomplish this week was to clear off a space to work.   Even that task was broken down into daily 15 minutes chucks of time.

It’s hard to find a few hours to work on my Craft Room, but I can spend 15 minutes each day on a task.  One of the tasks was as easy as emptying all of the Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, Dollar Tree, etc. shopping bags and putting it all away.  Fortunately, I only had one Dollar Tree bag with a few items, so that didn’t take me any time at all.

Visit the lovely ladies below and see how they are coming along on their craft spaces.

This week’s task is to Purge and Sort.  Most of the purging in my room has been done, and is boxed up. I just need to get rid of it.  I’m planning on donating it to an after school program.  Sorting on the other hand is a bigger task.  I have paper, stickers, and embellishments to sort and organize.  Wish me luck!

How are you coming along with the challenge?  I’d love to hear about your progress.

Craft Room Challenge 2018

January 3, 2018 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

I hate New Year’s Resolutions.  All that New Year, New You Crap makes me nauseous.  Who am I kidding?  The dieting and exercising will be over before the weekend gets here.

However, I do have something that I REALLY REALLY REALLY need to work on…my Craft Room Mess.

Welcome to the 2018 Craft Room Challenge! From January 3rd through January 31st, 14 crafty bloggers will be sorting, organizing, cleaning, and decorating their craft spaces.

Each of us has a very different craft space to tackle, so chances are you will find one similar to yours. We’d love for you to join in on the fun challenge and clean right alongside us. Follow along and join in on social media by using #craftroomchallenge and #confessyourmess. You can also find us and the challenge via our social media accounts you’ll see listed on each of our sites.

We’ll also have 15-minute mini daily challenges for you in case you have limited time to dedicate to the challenge. We hope you share your messy spaces and progress with us so we don’t feel alone this month!

Before you see the rest of the crafty spaces, please meet our lovely hosts:

I go through the same thing EVERY YEAR.  My craft room looks like a bad episode of hoarders and the movie, “Twister” crammed into one small 12’x12′ space.

Fall and Christmas are busy crafting times for me, and I have a bad habit of not cleaning up one mess before starting on the next project.

When I finished all of my crafting for the season and starting decorating for Christmas, my Craft Room became the catch all for anything that didn’t have a home.

Here’s a live look at my Craft Room.

Did that send your OCD into a fit?  I warned you!

This is my work desk.  Everything gets piled on it.  There’s a baby sweater on my work table…WHY?  I’m sure when I start digging, there are lots more things that don’t belong.

Since I need to craft this month during the Craft Room Challenge, my first spot to tackle is my work table and my chair.  If I at least have a place to work on projects, I’ll be more motivated to clean up the rest of this crap…I mean stuff.

While I’m working on my work table, I also need to clean out my tool tote.  It is over loaded and weighs a ton.

I needed to do a last minute Cricut Project the week before Christmas.  In order to get to my machine, I had to move a few other things.  Guess where it landed?  In my chair!  And that’s where it’s still sitting.

This is the floor, but I can’t walk in there without feeling like I’m navigating an obstacle course.  I think the best way to tackle this is to take everything out and put it in the hallway.  That will be my project for Week 2 of the Craft Room Challenge.

I have some furniture that needs to be moved, and it will be easier if there isn’t so much stuff in the way.  Then I an put everything back where it belongs.

Here is my craft cart that I love, but it is overloaded.  I need to get rid of some of those stamp sets, but that will be a chore for week 3 of the challenge.

That’s what I’m working with.  It’s a big job, but I know by breaking it down into smaller chores each week, I will get it done.

Go take a look at my progress in the Week #2 Craft Room Challenge.

Now, let’s take a look at their craft rooms and spaces!
