Easy Butterfly Craft

February 7, 2016 by Pam Larmore 1 Comment

I bet you will find this Easy Butterfly Craft as simple and quick as anything you’ve ever tried.  The most difficult part is gluing on the wiggle eyes, but if you have a pair of tweezers, this butterfly craft will be a cinch.

Easy Butterfly Craft using Chocolate candies, clothespin, pom pom, wiggle eyes, washi tape, and tacky glue. These are perfect for kids to make for birthday or Valentine's party favors. Also cute for spring or Easter Parties.

Supplies Needed for Easy Butterfly Craft

  • Wooden Clothespin – Use the clip type, not the peg type
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Washi Tape
  • 1″ Pom Pom
  • Two tiny poms poms or pieces of thread or rick rack for antennae
  • Fun Size bags of M&M’s
  • Scissors
  • Thick Craft Glue

This list of inexpensive items might already be in you craft stash.  There are different ways to decorate the clothespin.  You cut scrapbook paper and glue it onto the clothespin or you could paint it.  Using Washi Tape makes this a very “neat” craft with very little mess.

I used tiny pom poms from a ribbon trim that I bought at Walmart, but black embroidery thread would work also.

Since this Butterfly Craft is so easy, I’m not going to list step by step instructions for making it.  Here is a short video showing you just how simple it is!

I made 30 of these, and it didn’t take me long at all.  This is an activity that the kids could help with.  Since the washi tape is self sticking, you only need a small amount of glue.  If the kids are to small to small to do the gluing, they could be in charge of the washi tape.

So now that you see how to make these Easy Butterfly Candy Crafts, you can make them for Valentine’s Day, Spring, or Easter.   They are great little “Thank You” gifts, unexpected treat for the kids, or party favors.
