Big Bird and all of his friends have been popular for as long as I can remember, so it’s only fitting that Cricut would make a Sesame Street Friends Cartridge.
Big Bird’s popular friends, Bert and Ernie, Elmo, and Cookie Monster aren’t the only characters on this cartridge though. Oscar the Group, Grover, and Prairie Dawn also make their appearance. In addition to the Sesame Street characters, there are lots of great shapes and numbers 1-10, making this a great Cricut Cartridge for making kid’s birthday cards and birthday scrapbooking pages.
Sesame Street Handmade Cards
Here are three great handmade Cricut Cards that I made using the Sesame Street Friends. I used lots of patterned papers, cardstock, brads, and ribbon in primary colors, which match perfectly with all of the characters.
These were so much fun to make. I don’t know who I’m going to send them to yet, but I can’t wait to put them in the mail!

Big Bird Cricut Birthday Card
Big Bird is the most popular of all of the Sesame Street Characters, and any pre-school child would be thrilled to receive a handmade Cricut birthday card featuring this well loved bird.
He is featured three times on the Sesame Street Friends Cricut Cartridge. You can cut him sitting, standing, and dancing. I cut him at 3″ for my Cricut card, but he has some tiny pieces which made it difficult to assemble. The bigger you cut him, the better! At 3″ his eyes and stripes on his socks are the size of grains of rice.
It is difficult for the Cricut to cut this small, and makes it challenging to put the pieces together. 5″ would have been easier, but it wouldn’t have fit on my card. To make the card, I used printed papers from The Birthday Wishes Stack by Die Cuts With A View.
Elmo Birthday Card Using the Cricut
Big Bird might be the most popular Sesame Street character, but none are more loved than Elmo!
Elmo is the star of this Cricut Birthday Card Using the Sesame Street Friends Cricut Cartridge. His arms are open wide ready to hug the birthday boy or girl. Using the cartridge, you can cut Elmo with his arms wide open, reading a book, running, jumping, or standing.
Because Elmo doesn’t have many tiny pieces, he is the easiest character to cut. I cut him with the Cricut Expression set at 3″, and I didn’t have any problems putting him together. I used patterned papers from The Birthday Wishes Stack from Die Cuts With A View and added a red ribbon.
