The hydrangea on the Walk In My Garden Cricut Cartridge is one of my favorite Cricut cuts. I am a sucker for flowers. I love flower stamps, flower paper, and of course flower die cuts. Here’s how I made this hydrangea card.
I used the Butterfly Garden Paper Stack from Die Cuts With A View. The colors in the stack are beautiful with some added foil on a few of the prints. There are also prints with butterflies and flowers. I used one a green print and a pink print to cut two bases for the hydrangea using the Walk In My Garden Cricut Cartridge.
I cut the flower part off of the pink one and attached it so that the only green part that shows is the leaves. Then I used the layer feature to cut the flower part that shows more detail. Finally, I used the layer feature to cut out the individual flowers. The flower has 3 layers, and I used pop dots between each layer to give the flower extra dimension.
I used 4 different patterns of paper for the background of the card and added an organza ribbon and knot. I fussy cut the butterfly out of the cover of the paper pack. I hated to waste a whole piece of 12×12 paper for just one butterfly. I attached it with a mini glue dot in the center so that I could fold the wings up.
To finish the card, I used cream colored Liquid Pearls to add centers to the individual flowers and pink stick on pearls to the corner.
The Walk In My Garden Cricut Cartridge has flowers, leaves, caterpillars, snails, butterflies, dragonflies, turtles, and lots of garden accessories. The special features include a tag that makes a great bookmark, borders, and cards.
