I always seem to need birthday cards. Does anyone else have that problem? I usually have a stash of them, but sometimes one sneaks up on me. So today, I have a FREE Printable Birthday Card to share, so you can have one ready quickly.
I designed this card so that it looks handmade. You can add your own touches or leave it like it is.
Printable Cards are a great option for crafters on a budget. You can add bows, ribbon, brads, and rhinestones.

Supplies Needed for Free Printable Birthday Card
- White or light colored card stock. I like to use good quality card stock like Bazzill canvas or linen textured. It looks really nice when printed, and it has a nice thick weight.
- Paper Trimmer or scissors
- Scrapbook adhesive
- Foam tape or pop dots
- Embellishments for decorating your card. I used rhinestones and Clear Wink of Stella, but you could add glitter, ribbon, bow, buttons, or brads.
To get started, you will need to print the Printable Birthday Card on your printer.

This is what your card will look like when you print it. The light gray line is where you will cut it. The solid piece will be your card base.
Here’s a video to show you how to cut your card and decorate it.
Using a paper trimmer (or scissors if you don’t have one), cut your pieces out. Cut along the gray center line.
The blue area is your card mat. Trim it so you don’t see any white.
Trim the other piece so that you don’t see any white around the outside of the yellow.
Using a tape runner or scrapbook adhesive attach your layers. You can use foam tape under the top layer to give your card some dimension.
You can leave your card like it is, or you can decorate it. You know me….I like to add GLITTER! Clear Wink of Stella was the perfect accent for this watercolor birthday cake.
Wink of Stella comes in lots of beautiful colors, and it leaves a shimmer on your project. The clear works for almost everything, so I use it the most. It comes in a brush tip pen type applicator. You brush it on where you want it. It’s super easy, and it dries quickly.
You can see how the Wink of Stella makes the flowers, stars, and cake stand shimmer. It’s just the right amount of sparkle.
I added adhesive rhinestones to the corners of the card and tiny rhinestones to the flowers. They are perfect for a little added bling and interest.
How easy was that?? I love making detailed cards with tons of layers, hours of coloring, and lots of embellishing, but I don’t always have the time.
I know that this Free Printable Birthday Card is an easier option for crafters who are just getting started with card-making, since it doesn’t take a whole craft room full of supplies.
I also realized a few months ago that I have readers in countries where card making supplies are scarce. If you’re one of those readers, I hope this is helpful.
I’d love to hear what you think in the comments.
