Free Cupcake Printable Birthday Card

August 24, 2017 by Pam Larmore 1 Comment

Everyone knows how much I love making handmade cards, but sometimes I run out of time.  I just can’t bring myself to BUY a card.  Everyone knows that I spend hours in my craft room, and they expect cards from me to be hand crafted.

This cut apart printable birthday card is a good compromise when there’s no time to create a card from scratch.  Everyone liked my Birthday Cake Printable Card so much that I thought I’d offer another one.

You can embellish this card with glitter, sparkly markers, buttons, brads, eyelets, adhesive rhinestones, and flat backed pearls.

Basic Supplies for Printable Birthday Card

  • Good quality white card stock
  • Scrapbook Adhesive – I recommend EZ Runner by Scrapbook Adhesives
  • Pop Dots or dimensional tape
  • Embellishments – brads, buttons, glitter, ribbon, rhinestones, pearls, etc.

Print your birthday card on good quality card stock, so that it’s not flimsy.

To get started, cut apart the pieces for your card.  I use a 12″ paper trimmer, but you can use scissors if you don’t have one.

Cut along the gray line that divides the paper in half.  The plain white side will be your card base, and the yellow is a mat.

You can see in the photo that I scored my card stock to make it easier to fold in half.

Use a tape runner adhesive or double sided tape to attach the yellow mat to your card base.

Use dimensional tape or pop dots to give your card dimension.  This is a great way to add interest to an otherwise flat card.

You can use whatever supplies you have on hand to decorate your card.  If you’re a scrapbooker or cardmaker, I’m sure you have a stash of beautiful ribbons, lace, glitter, and stick on doo-dads to embellish your printable birthday card.

I have a collection of adhesive rhinestones and pearls, so I always have the right color.   If you have clear rhinestones and white and off white pearls will always have something that matches.

I have a clear Wink of Stella that adds a beautiful shimmer to paper projects.  I added it to the blue cupcake wrapper.  It’s great for adding detail to tiny places or wide open spaces on your card, and it comes in different colors.

Stickles Glitter Glue adds a bit of sparkle to printable cards.  Just like the rhinestones and pearls, it comes in ever color of the rainbow.  If you have clear, it will work for all of your projects.

In this close up you can see the dimension created by the pop dots and the bits of added detail from the Wink of Stella, Pearls, and glitter.
