Please welcome Yamilette from The Latina Next Door.  She’s guest posting today, and is going to show you how to make gorgeous felt flowers.

It’s summer and flowers are in! But they don’t necessarily have to always be real. You can create beautiful conversation pieces throughout your home that are both super quick to make and super inexpensive… with the help of felt flowers!

How To Make Felt Flowers

In this tutorial I will show you how to make 2 different types of felt flowers and how you can add them to a cushion, make wall art out of them or even wear them as a fashion accessory.

FELT FLOWER SUPPLIES:

  • Felt Sheets
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Self-Healing Cutting Mat
  • OLFA Circle Rotary Cutter
  • Scissors (or rotary cutter for straight lines)
  • Buttons (or Gemstones for centers)
  • Ruler
  • Fabric for Wall Art or Cushion Cover
  • Headband (If you plan on making a headband for a little girl)

The entire step-by-step video is below, but first I want to make sure you know that you will have to make a lot of cuts, however with the rotary cutters mentioned above, the process goes much quicker.

The first flower will require 2″ felt circles for the petals and a larger circle for the back. The flowers are made with hot glue, and will only require needle and thread if you wish to attach them to a cushion. How to Make Felt Flowers

The second flower will require 3 different size squares to create the petals. The larger squares are for the outer petals and the smallest go in the center.

Now sit back, grab a cup of tea (or glass of wine) while I show you how to make these felt flowers  super quick and super easy!  They will look great with some of Pam’s DIY Picture Frames.

Here’s another look at the finished cushion I made for my daughter’s nursery!  There are tons of great Felt Projects on FaveCrafts.  Go have a look!

I talked to her. You’re right she didn’t! She said she doesn’t know how many she used, but you can look at the photo and count them.
