Easy Fall Table Decoration

October 24, 2017 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

I don’t have many fall decorations.  I’m not sure why.  I like to decorate outside with pumpkins, gourds, mums, and pansies, but the inside gets neglected.  We are an “outside on-the-go family”, so maybe that’s why.

I made fall paper mache pumpkins , but I wanted something to go with them.  I had a ton of silk leaves in fall colors that I had gotten on clearance years ago.  I thought that an Easy Fall Table Decoration would be a great way to use them.

Make an easy fall table decoration using a styrofoam cone, silk leaves, straight pins, acorns, and a small fall garland.

Supplies Needed For Fall Table Decoration

  • Styrofoam cone
  • Silk fall leaves
  • Small fall garland
  • Fake acorns
  • Straight pins
  • Thick craft glue

You can paint your cone if you want, but I didn’t.

Start at the bottom of the cone to make your fall leaf tree decoration.   Make sure the leaves are low enough to cover the bottom of the cone.   I found it easiest to hold the leaf to the cone and stick the pin in.  Overlap the leaves slightly.

When you start the second row, stagger the leaves so they are between the ones from the first row.  As you get closer to the top, you might have to adjust some of the leaves to cover the cone.

To finish the top of your Fall Table Decoration, cover the top with a leaf, and pin it down using the same pins from the last row of leaves.

You will see that I used yellow headed pins.  I wasn’t sure I was going to like it at first, but the color blends well with the leaves.  Most of the them are covered anyway, so it’s not a big deal.

When you’re finished adding leaves, pin the garland to the cone.  I only used 2 pins to hold it.

Cut the acorn stems and add them to the tree, filling in any bare spots.  I dipped the stems in glue so they would stay.  I made some of the stems longer on the acorns to get them to sit where I want them on the tree.

That’s all there is to it!   This project took me about 30 minutes, and I love the fall colors.  Are you in the mood to create some fall decorations?  Here are some that you will enjoy.
