I’m super excited to share this Cricut Jungle Card today! I have a friend who messages me with an occasional special request, and they are always fun. As soon as she asked for a Jungle Card for a Baby Shower, an idea popped into my head.
Not all card ideas that enter my crazy brain, turn out the way I envision them, but this one was really close. I’m so pleased with the finished card!
I have a Cricut Expression Machine that I absolutely LOVE, but when I received the Cricut Explore as a gift, it completely changed how I approached making cards like this.
With the Explore, I am able to design the card and adjust sizes on my laptop, so that everything is perfect before I start cutting. How many times have you worked on a project and had to cut and recut the die cut shapes to get them the size you want?
If you would like to make this card, I have already figured out the sizes and included the cut file below.
Measurements to Make This Cricut Jungle Card
- Card Base is 12″x6″ tan Bazzill Cardstock, folded in half.
- Dark brown cardstock mat measures 5 3/4″ x 5 3/4″.
- Yellow dotted background paper is from Stampin’ Up and measures 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.
Here is a list of the die cuts and Cricut Cartridges if you don’t have the Explore. If you have the Cricut Explore, a link to the cut file is at the bottom of the page.
Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge
- Vine – 1 1/4″
- Elephant – 1 3/4″
Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge
- Monkey and Heart – 2 1/4″
- Lion – 2 1/4″
Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge
- Giraffes – 4 3/4″ and 4″
Summer Love Cricut Cartridge – This isn’t a very popular cartridge, but there are palm trees and tropical leaves on several other Cricut Cartridges that you could use.
- Palm Trees – 4 1/4″ – Cut 2
I really enjoy making cards with lots of layers, textures, and dimension. To get great depth for this card, I put pop dots under the lions face, the taller giraffe, the monkey, and the elephant. By using pop dots or dimensional tape and overlapping die cuts, you can create a really visually please project.
To finish this card, I added Stickles glitter glue to the vine and palm trees.
If you have the Cricut Explore, here is the JUNGLE CARD CUT FILE.
