Craft Room Challenge 2018 Week #2

January 10, 2018 by Pam Larmore 5 Comments

Welcome to week #2 of the Craft Room Challenge.   Are you working on your craft space?

Have you been following along with everyone’s progress in the Facebook Group?  You can also follow along using #craftroomchallenge and #confessyourmess on Twitter and Instagram.

If you saw last week’s “Before” photos and video, you know that I had my work cut out for me.

Guess what!?!?  I got my work table cleaned off enough to work on a Valentine’s Day Cricut Project.  Now, that’s quite an accomplishment.

Here's Week #2 of the Craft Room Challenge. I'm making great progress. I cleaned off my work table so I can work, and I can not sit in my chair. #craftroom #craftroomchallenge #confessyourmess

There’s my chair!  And the only thing it has in it is the pillow that belongs there.  My crafty friend Joy,  made this pillow for me, and I cherish it.  It is tea stained off white fabric, and she embroidered my website name on the front.  I especially love the mix match pink and brown buttons on the side.  She’s so talented!

Not only is this pillow pretty, but it’s functional too.  This chair is so comfortable when I put the pillow behind my lower back.

I found my craft mat under all that stuff.  The supplies in this photo are leftovers from my Valentine’s Day Project that I did on Sunday.  I have a horrible horrible habit of not putting my supplies away.  Ughhhh!  That’s how everything gets so piled up.  I really need to work on that.

So what did I have on my Craft Table and chair?  Yes, my chair had stuff in it, so I couldn’t even sit down.

  • Baby Sweater (No, I don’t even have a baby!)
  • Empty Scrapbook Album
  • Broken Lamp
  • Pens, pencils, markers
  • 2 pints of glitter
  • 3 teal glass candle holders
  • Scrap paper…tons of scrap paper!
  • Handmade Cards
  • Full sheets of cardstock
  • Overloaded Tool Tote
  • Assorted Photos
  • Magazine article
  • Stampin’ Up Catalog
  • Spare Paper Trimmer
  • Spray paint
  • Acrylic Sealer
  • Hot Pink acrylic paint
  • 2 bags of Ghirardelli…YES!!!  Now that was a major find.

I love that the Craft Room Challenge is broken down into manageable parts, over the course of a month.  The only thing we needed to accomplish this week was to clear off a space to work.   Even that task was broken down into daily 15 minutes chucks of time.

It’s hard to find a few hours to work on my Craft Room, but I can spend 15 minutes each day on a task.  One of the tasks was as easy as emptying all of the Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, Dollar Tree, etc. shopping bags and putting it all away.  Fortunately, I only had one Dollar Tree bag with a few items, so that didn’t take me any time at all.

This week’s task is to Purge and Sort.  Most of the purging in my room has been done, and is boxed up. I just need to get rid of it.  I’m planning on donating it to an after school program.  Sorting on the other hand is a bigger task.  I have paper, stickers, and embellishments to sort and organize.  Wish me luck!

How are you coming along with the challenge?  I’d love to hear about your progress.

Wow, that was a lot of stuff on that chair. I bet it’s so nice to have a place to sit and do more crafts 🙂

I think the 2 pints of glitter where the best find in all those supplies on your chair and desk. And I share the bad habit of not putting my stuff away after crafting. So you are not alone in this one 😉
