This mixed media BoBunny Beach Card uses the Down By The Sea papers, gold glitter paste, adhesive stencils, Pearlescents, and acrylic gems.

Silhouette Christmas Scrapbook Layout

December 21, 2017 by Lynn S 1 Comment

Hey crafty friends.  I’m Lyne from Lynn’s Everyday Ideas and I want to say a big thank you to Pam for having me here again as such a special time of year.    Today I’m going to be sharing with you a scrapbook layout that I created using just a 6×6 paper pad from Simple stories and a die cut background that I cut with my Silhouette Cameo.

Make this festive Christmas Scrapbook Page Layout with the Silhouette Machine. The Christmas Tree background looks great against the black cardstock.

I have had this 6×6 paper pad in my stash since 2014, and I decided it was time to try to use it up.  I used a cut file from Paige Evans on the Silhouette store.  The file was only about $1 and it made a beautiful focal element for my page. It is cut with white Bazzil cardstock.

To back the images you can either trace and hand cut or use the Silhouette software.  I did some hand-cutting, but most I did with the software.  The way I did that was to unweld the background and enlarge one of the inside trees just a tad.  I then duplicated them in rows and just placed my paper in those rows and cut multiple trees at once.

The page didn’t need much embellishing after the trees were done since there were so many patterns included.  I did however add a few things that I felt added just a little bit here and there so there was some dimension to the layout.

The other fun thing about this page is that one of the layers under the photo is a paper bag. Inside the bag I created a very large cardstock tag to insert.  I wanted this so that my journalling didn’t add any more business to the page.

I am really happy with how this layout came out, and I hope it encourages you to give a die-cut background a try as well.  Oh, and if you’d like to see this come together I have created a video.  Hope you enjoy!

Princess Party Favors Using the Cricut Explore

June 29, 2017 by Pam Larmore Leave a Comment

Princess birthday parties are so popular with little girls, especially Disney Princess parties.  What little girl doesn’t want to dress up in a fancy dress that twirls when she spins?

Pink cupcakes with sprinkles, rhinestones, tiaras, and lots of glitter complete the Princess party theme. I have a princess party favor to share that I made using the Cricut Explore.

Make Princess Party Favors for a little girl's birthday. I used the Cricut Explore to make this great gift bag with a fancy tiara tag.

This post was sponsored by Simply Stamps. All opinions are my own.

Supplies Needed for Princess Party Favors

  • Custom Princess Stamp from Simply Stamps
  • Haute Pink Paper Pack from Die Cuts With A View
  • Pink heart rhinestone
  • White glitter tulle netting
  • Pink yarn fibers
  • Hole Punch
  • Gold foil paper
  • Tacky Tape
  • Scrapbook Adhesive
  • Dimensional Tape
  • Thick Craft Glue

Die Cuts Used:

I used the Cricut Explore to cut all of the die cut shapes.  They were free with my Cricut Access subscription.

  • Gift bag – Spring Holiday Cards Cartridge
  • Tag – Tie the Knot Cartridge
  • Tiara – Bridal Shower Cartridge

This is how my screen looked in Cricut Design Space after I had it laid out.  I searched for gift bag, tag, and tiara to find the shapes that I wanted.

Since I was using different paper for all of them, I changed the color by clicking the circle on the right side of the screen next to the scissors icon.  That will bring up a menu of colors to choose from.

Here are the pieces when I finished cutting them.  I love that with the Cricut Explore, it also scored the box for me using the score tool.  This made it super easy to fold and assemble.

Watch the video below to see how I put everything together.

The pink rhinestone heart is the perfect accent on the princess crown, and I love the frilliness of the glitter tulle and fancy fibers.  Using a paper pack like the one I used from Die Cuts With A View makes projects like this really easy, since everything is coordinated.

I filled the bag with Decorative Shredded paper, candy, stickers, and small toys.

Make a Vacation Memory Photo Bookmark

June 20, 2017 by Habiba Elkaihel 2 Comments

Hi, I am Habiba from Germany and Pam was so generous to let me guest post for her today! This is a huge thing for me as I am a baby blogger over at Craftify My Love  and haven’t had many of those opportunities yet.

I’d love to show you how I managed to bring some of my latest vacation memories into my day to day life by creating a personalized photo bookmark.

Make a great memory photo bookmark to remind you of your vacation. You' ll only need a few supplies, and it's only 2 steps. I'll give you tips along the way.

You know, I read a lot, and I am horrible with numbers. So there is nooooo way I can memorize the page I stopped reading. Also I don’t like to bend book pages like some people do. And I love to surround myself with pretty things (YASS, give me all the pretty things #IAmInLove), so a receipt or a slip of white paper won’t work for me either, sorry!

As I am also a person who makes a gazillion photos whenever, and I found a man who is even worse, this got me thinking: What to do with all the photos we took on our first trip together? I really want to hold on to and be reminded of all the memories we made in the Netherlands together in this hectic day to day life.

And all of a sudden the idea for a Vacation Memory Photo Bookmark was born!

Make a great memory photo bookmark to remind you of your vacation. You' ll only need a few supplies, and it's only 2 steps. I'll give you tips along the way.

Supplies For Photo Bookmark

  • A piece of sturdy craft paper – preferably with a nice pattern on both sides
  • ribbon in a matching color (psssst…I’ll be sharing a frugal tip on how to get ribbon for free further down)
  • your favorite tools to measure and cut paper (I went old school and used my cutting mat, ruler and my X-ACTO knife)
  • glue stick
  • hole punch
  • your favorite photos (I used 4)
  • printer
  • scissors

2 Simple Steps to Your Own Memory Photo Bookmark

1. Creating your photo collage

Choose four photos that transport memories you want to be reminded of on a daily basis. Open your computer and find either Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, a photo editing program or anything the like. I used a photo of the beach dunes as a background and cut it to 5 x 14 cm (198 x 539 pixel or 2 x 5,5 inches).

I added three photos of Markus and me and gave them a matching frame. You might want to leave a little bit more space in the top of the collage for the hole you’ll be punching there in a minute. Because you probably don’t want the punch to go through one of your photos, duh!

Once you’re happy with your collage, print it out and cut it to size.

2. Assembling your bookmark

Now go find all your other supplies. Cut a piece of that colorful sturdy crafting paper to size. You might want to make it about one centimeter wider and taller than your collage. This way your lovely paper will be seen from the front side of the bookmark, too. I used a paper with a red and blue pattern on the back and a simple blue on the front. I didn’t want the pattern to divert from my lovely photos.

Using a glue stick or one of them roller glues, fix your collage to your crafting paper. Using a hole punch you’ll punch a hole 😉 into the top of the bookmark.

Now, I promised you a frugal tip to find ribbon for free, right?

So here goes: I tend to cut the hanger straps from my shirts and pullovers and save them in a big ol’ plastic jar. When I started doing that, they only came in black and white. Lately the clothes companies started sewing them in in the most adorable colors, matching the garment. Perfect! I am tell you!!!!

I wasn’t happy with the previously decided on format of my bookmark so I simply cut some excess off. Cut your strands of ribbon to the same length (I used three different colors) and thread them through your previously punched hole. Make a knot. Done!

Now, step back and admire your work!

Do you like what you see? I sure do! And I like it some more every time I open my book: I read mostly at night before I go to bed. On the weekend I really love to bring a cup of tea to bed and start my day reading a couple chapters #bliss. Do you have any reading habits? Tell me all about them!

To make the band for the plastic utensils,  neatly fold a white napkin around the plastic ware.  Then cut a 6″ x 2″ strip of navy cardstock.  Add a piece of  5″ x 1 3/4″ star patterned paper on top.

Wrap the papers around the utensils and adhere in the back with a glue dot.  Crease the paper on the sides, so it lays flat.  Using Pop Dots, add the Freedom Is Not Free.  Trim the white cardstock in silver glitter and set it aside to dry.

If you’re making lots of these, it’s easiest to make them in batches.  Do all of the cutting at one time, then the stamping, etc.

Make a Personalized Bookmark with Simply Stamps

April 26, 2017 by Pam Larmore 3 Comments

Custom address stamps have many uses besides marking your outgoing mail.  When you have a gorgeous address stamp, like the ones from Simply Stamps, you will surely want to use it for more than just your bills.

This post was sponsored by Simply Stamps.  All opinions are my own.

Make a bookmark that's personalized using a custom address stamp from Simply Stamps, scrapbook paper, ribbon, and cardstock.

A friend of mine made me a beautiful journal.  I keep all kinds of crafty notes in it.  I have lists of my Cricut Cartridges, stamping ink colors, and border punches that I own.  I also have a running wish list, because a girl can never have too many craft supplies.

I stamped the inside of the first page with my name and address using the Angie Square Monogram Address Stamp by Simply Stamps.

With more than 600 custom address stamps to choose from, there is surely a stamp that fits your personality.

After marking my journal, so it could be returned in case I lost it, I thought of a few more items that I would want returned if I misplaced them.  One of them is whatever book I’m currently reading.

I know almost everyone has a Kindle, but I still read old fashioned printed books.  It’s usually a paperback that I stick in my purse, so I can take it with me when I have appointments.  I’m pretty good at keeping track of my belongings, but on occasion, I leave my book behind.

Since I use bookmarks, instead of dog earring my pages, I decided to make a personalized bookmark using my address stamp.

Make a bookmark that's personalized using a custom address stamp from Simply Stamps, scrapbook paper, ribbon, and cardstock.

Supplies Needed for Personalized Bookmark

  • 6″ x 2 1/4″ Scrapbook Paper
  • 5 3/4″ x 2″ Scrapbook Paper
  • Custom Address Stamp from Simply Stamps
  • Small Scrap of solid cardstock
  • 12″ piece of ribbon
  • 6″ piece of twine or thin ribbon
  • Scrapbook adhesive
  • 1/4″ Round Hole Punch

Instructions

  1. Stamp your address on the scrap of cardstock.  The size and shape of your personalized stamp will determine what size cardstock you need.  All of my papers are from Stampin’ Up, so everything coordinates, and I didn’t have to worry about matching colors.
  2. Using scrapbook adhesive, adhere the scrapbook papers together.  Then add the cardstock with your address.
  3. Punch a hole in the top of your bookmark and thread the ribbon through it.
  4. Tie the thin ribbon or twine around the ribbon to gather it.

That’s all there is to it!  It’s a super easy project.  These would be great to make for your kids.  How often are they misplacing their library books???  You could laminate it to make it more durable and keep the ink from bleeding.

Make a bookmark that's personalized using a custom address stamp from Simply Stamps, scrapbook paper, ribbon, and cardstock.

Now I need to make some personalized tags to mark my scrapbooking totes.  I can’t wait for a rainy day to work on them.

Adult Coloring Book Project

March 20, 2017 by Pam Larmore 11 Comments

I love adult coloring books, but I always wonder what people do with them when they finish a page.  They are too pretty to leave in a book, so  I came up with this pretty cool Adult Coloring Book Project.

Some of my blogging friends do a monthly Destash Challenge.  It’s a way to encourage you to use what’s in your stash without having to buy anything.  I’m happy to say that everything I used was stuff I already had.

This Adult Coloring Book Project is a great way to display your completed coloring book pages. Hang these to decorate your craft room!

Girl’s Baby Shower Gift Bag With Simply Stamps

March 10, 2017 by Pam Larmore 1 Comment

I live in a tiny town, but we are going to have an increase in population this spring and summer.  It must be something in the water!  The baby boom has inspired me to make this Baby Shower Gift Bag.

Make a Baby Shower Gift Bag Using scrapbooking paper, rubber stamps, and other card making supplies. This little pink elephant is so sweet!

I love it when I can use my scrapbooking and card making supplies for other projects.  I used a rubber stamp, scrap paper, and some trims to create this Baby Shower Gift Bag.  I can use alphabet letter stickers to put the baby’s name on the bag before I fill it with goodies.

This only took me 15 minutes to put together.  The idea came to me when I was cleaning out some bins in my craft room and came across the pink gift bag.

Plain gift bags are very inexpensive and can be decorated for any occasion using scraps and bits leftover from other projects.
