Silhouette Christmas Scrapbook Layout

December 21, 2017 by Lynn S 1 Comment

Hey crafty friends.  I’m Lyne from Lynn’s Everyday Ideas and I want to say a big thank you to Pam for having me here again as such a special time of year.    Today I’m going to be sharing with you a scrapbook layout that I created using just a 6×6 paper pad from Simple stories and a die cut background that I cut with my Silhouette Cameo.

Make this festive Christmas Scrapbook Page Layout with the Silhouette Machine. The Christmas Tree background looks great against the black cardstock.

I have had this 6×6 paper pad in my stash since 2014, and I decided it was time to try to use it up.  I used a cut file from Paige Evans on the Silhouette store.  The file was only about $1 and it made a beautiful focal element for my page. It is cut with white Bazzil cardstock.

To back the images you can either trace and hand cut or use the Silhouette software.  I did some hand-cutting, but most I did with the software.  The way I did that was to unweld the background and enlarge one of the inside trees just a tad.  I then duplicated them in rows and just placed my paper in those rows and cut multiple trees at once.

The page didn’t need much embellishing after the trees were done since there were so many patterns included.  I did however add a few things that I felt added just a little bit here and there so there was some dimension to the layout.

The other fun thing about this page is that one of the layers under the photo is a paper bag. Inside the bag I created a very large cardstock tag to insert.  I wanted this so that my journalling didn’t add any more business to the page.

I am really happy with how this layout came out, and I hope it encourages you to give a die-cut background a try as well.  Oh, and if you’d like to see this come together I have created a video.  Hope you enjoy!

How to Make a Scraplifted Page Your Own

July 25, 2017 by Lynn S Leave a Comment

Hi everyone!  Lyne from Lynn’s Everyday Ideas here.  I’m so honored that Pam has let me join you again.  Today I will share some tips for making a scrap lifted page your own. We all see pages we like, but don’t want to directly copy right!??

So here’s my inspiration piece.  Anne posted her creation on the Felicity Jane scrapbook group, and I thought it would be a perfect way to use of some of my scraps from the same kit.  How would I make it my own though!?

Using Your Scraps to Make a Wedding Scrapbook Layout

April 13, 2017 by Lynn S Leave a Comment

Hi Crafty Friends!  I’m Lyne from Lynn’s Every Day Ideas, and I’m pleased to make your crafting acquaintance.  I want to start with a big thank you to Pam for having me on the blog today.  This is my first guest post ever…how exciting!

So, let’s get down to why you’re really here with me today.  You want to see what I created or learn something new right!?  Well,  today I created a wedding scrapbook layout to share with you using nothing but scraps, and I’m talking tiny scraps.

Many moons ago I subscribed to an awesome scrapbook club that sent you papers and sketches each month.  They did a wonderful job of using every scrap of paper they could to create double page layouts.  I wanted to challenge myself though to use the tiny pieces left.  Look what I created!

This wedding scrapbook layout uses up scraps to create an awesome scrapbook page.
